Rose kneeled down to gather her scattered groceries, Teddy had already begun cleaning up the mess he half caused. After all the items had been carefully placed back upon the counter, they turned to each other once again. "You wanna get outta here?"
Rose smiled and gave out a sigh of relief. "Yes, definitely! Can I pick these up later?" she asked the clerk. He nodded and began to re-pack her groceries in a new bag. He couldn't help but to stare at the two as they began to walk out of the store.
Spinner, Rocket, Ace, and Dandy spotted them desperately trying to duck out without attracting any more unwanted attention. The four dashed out in front of the door, hindering their escape.
Ace spoke up first, "Whoa, whoa, you're not gettin' off THAT easy. You have some of explaining to do Teddy!"
"Yeah, how come you never told us you had a sister?"
"I think you should properly introduce us." Dandy added.
"And who ever woulda thought YOU were related to this vision..." Rocket reached down to gently lift up Rose's right hoof, placing on it a soft kiss.
"Oh, THAT'S IT!!" Teddy was outraged. Just as he opened his mouth to protect his long-lost twin, Rose opened hers, violently pulling her hoof away from Rocket's grasp. "Chivalry is SOOO dead. Besides, I'm not into shallow, big-headed JOCKS!" With a flick of her tail she confidently strode out the door, having forced her way through the speechless barricade.
Teddy, having formerly been one of the stunned "jocks", turned to his teammates. He flashed a rather confused grin, "Guys, meet my twin sister Rose." Teddy swiftly trotted out to freedom through the path his sister had created. He hated being the center of attention, that kind of attention anyways, and was glad it was all over.
He took his place by Rose's side, "You are such a tease!" Teddy laughed as Rose looked over at him seductively batting her eyes and sporting her Miss America smile. They walked around for hours, just talking. Catching up with each other and reminiscing about the past, they were dancing around the question that was on both their minds.
"So...uhhh...what's the deal? Aren't you supposed to be dead?" Teddy finally blurted out.
"What? Of course not, aren't you?" Rose stopped dead in her tracks. Why had she been told all those years ago that Teddy had died, why had he been told the same thing about her? Someone had ALOT of explaining to do.
"Well, where have you been then? And what are you doing here now?" Teddy prodded, he wanted answers just as much as Rose did.
"I've been living up in Valley Bend with Grandma and Grandpa Morris. We've stopped to rest here for a few days on our way to Shady Palms, our selected vacation spot for this year. So, what's your story?"
Teddy hesitated, not quite sure how to word his response. "Well, it's simple really. I've been livin' it up in the seventh circle of HELL with our jackass father, his cold-hearted mistress Dawn, and their evil spawn Donny. My vacations merely consisted of the occasional trip to the emergancy room when dear ole dad came home too drunk and angry to know when to stop. Not even swallowing two bottles of pills could get me out of this place...please, just shoot me now!" He looked down at the ground, shuffling some rocks around before answering her outloud. "I was living with Dad, but I moved out two years ago."
"Daddy? Oh, I can't wait to see him again! Let's go right now! Maybe we could even get him to answer our questions, if anyone knows the truth it would be him right?" Rose was overjoyed at the thought of seeing her father again. Their grandparents had told her that he had died as well, in the same awful car accident twelve years earlier.
"Ummm...let's not and say we did."
Rose laughed, "What do you mean? Why wouldn't we go see him? I haven't seen him in twelve years. He's my daddy, I'm his princess!" Rose was glowing with excitement.
"I just mean, maybe we should go talk to grandma and grandpa first. The hotel's closer than the house is from here. Besides, they probably know just as much as he does, right?." Teddy started off towards the hotel their grandparents were staying at and Rose followed. She was curious of his sudden change in character, but didn't say a word about it as they made their way to the hotel.
