"So which house is it?" Rose's curious eyes fixed on Teddy, as he had come to a stop at last. Teddy couldn't stand to even look at that house anymore. He sat down on the curb, looking back down the road instead. He pointed behind them to a rather run-down white house with a rusty blue Nova and and old white pick-up parked out front.
Rose looked at the house and then back at her brother. Her stubborn, selfish demeaner was softened at the painful look in his eyes. She was suddenly sorry she'd made him come here. Rose sat down next to him on the curb. Teddy had never been one to show any signs of pain or sorrow to anyone else. Even when they were kids she'd never seen him so much as shed a tear. Rose had never understood that, how he could always give such an outstanding performance of cover-ups and brush-offs and come out seemingly unscathed every time. He was breaking his previous record terribly now.
"I'm so sorry, you aren't lying at all are you? God, what did I miss in my perfect world bubble?"
Teddy smiled, "Nothing much, just the real world."
A loud creak of the ancient side screen door on the white house broke through their conversation. Teddy shuddered, he hated that stupid door. Rose got up to meet the gaze of a rather confused light purple pony with golden hair who had just walked out the door and was on her way to the Nova. She was immediately followed by a young dark purple pony with orange hair.
"Can I, help you miss?" the purple pony asked, pushing back her curious son.
"I..." Rose pulled Teddy up next to her. She didn't quite know what to say to this woman. Where was her father?
"Teddy!" The young pony bounded over to his older brother.
Teddy half-smiled, "Hey Doofus." He looked rather annoyed by the excitable pony clinging to his leg. Despite constantly being called "doofus" and being left out of just about everything, Donny adored Teddy. Yet Teddy never really liked Donny much, but that was probably because he was treated like a god and never got in trouble for anything. After all, their little "angel" could do no wrong. Teddy, on the other hand, was always blamed for everything and never escaped punishment. For instance, if their father ran out of beer during Monday night football it was Teddy's fault. It was also his fault he wouldn't be able to make it to school the next day.
"What are you doing here? Donny, get your ass back here now!" Donny obediently returned to his mother's side and she pushed him into the car.
"Shove it Dawn! Where the hell's your bastard pimp?" Dawn's expression turned from surprise to sour bitch, back to normal.
"Listen you little shit..." Teddy rolled his eyes, her "I'm the high bitch, bow to me" reprimands were so exhausting. He grabbed Rose and pulled her past Dawn and into the house. He knew just where that asshole would be. Teddy continued pulling her through the cluttered hall and into the livingroom. He pushed her out in front of the TV, blocking their father's view of it.
"There, happy now?"
"Hey, what the hell is this?" the large green pony yelled.
"You figure it out!" With that Teddy walked out of the room, leaving the other two to their precious little family reunion.
Tom looked back at the young TV-blocker, "Get the fuck outta my house!!"
Rose stood paralized, very frightened by her surroundings. "Daddy? Don't you recognize me?"
