Review

Attendance

About 250 people attended. This is about 50 less than last year. This could be due to having only the school band and recorder group play. Last year we also had the school choir. They did not have one this year.

Program

The program started at 7:00pm and concluded exactly at 9:30pm. The Tuggeranong Youth Band did not play the second 15 minute bracket. People waited around until the puppets finised at about 8:45 and then many left. This is better than last year when many left after the children had performed or as soon as the message started. Comments suggest that finishing at 9:30 is too late and that the program is too long.

Puppets

This was very successful. It engaged the children and families stayed longer. The program was changed slightly. There was a very quick intro at the beginning to whet the appetite of the audience. The program was changed to put the puppet first ‘act’ on immediately after the Lord’s Prayer item. Then there was a bracket of 2 songs and the puppets continued their second act. Quizworx were given a $200 donation to cover their expenses.

Free Face Painting

This was vary popular and a lot more work for Roanna and Oumaya than expected. Next time they will need to be able to take a break. Face painting continued until it was too dark to see.

Candles

Due to the total fire ban, there were no candles. The light stick substitutes were popular, though there was some concern that young children chewed them and this could lead to injury. Generally I think it would be best to avoid this.

Sausage Sizzle

The Sausage Sizzle didn’t do so well this year. Last year they made $300. They will need lighting next time.

Book Stall

The book stall was worth doing. About five books were sold and several Gideon bibles and Creation Science magazines were given away. One person made enquires about Christianity and was given a contact at Queanbeyan.
