Dies at age 71

 

Final rites for wife of Col. Cage Vivrett of Hickman County, Ky., Held Friday 31,1936

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Payne vivret, 71 wife of Col Cage Vivrett of Hickman County, Ky were held Friday afternoon at 2 o?clock from the home two miles north of Clinton Ky with the Rev I. M. King pastor of the Clinton Methodist Church and Rev. C.P. Thockmorton pastor of the Charlestown Missouri Methodist Church conducting the funeral rites. Mrs. Vivrett died at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 31 following a four-day illness of pneumonia and pleurisy.

The deceased was born in Dublin, Graves County, Ky., In 1865 the daughter of the late Major M. A. and Katherine Payne. On September December 17, 1887, she was married to Cage Vivrett. They would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in September. She was a member of the Methodist church. Her home was always a gathering place for the young people Mrs. Vivrett's four daughters together with their families had been home during the Christmas holidays for a family reunion. This was the first time in several years that the entire had been together.

Surviving are her husband Cage Vivrett four children, Mrs. Miles T. Lee of Charlestown. Mrs. Walter Turnbough, Brookhaven,Miss.; Mrs. Harvey Tournbough, Brookhaven, Miss, and Mrs. Leon Hopkins of Clinton, Three sisters Mrs. W.W. Crawford of Texarkana.

Active pallbearers were Willis Vaughn, Ebert Williams, Henry Alexander, and Ortha Vivrett, Payne Wyman, Charles Wyman. Honorary Pallbearers were, Dr. Chas. Hunt, Reuben Griffy, Bill Lashley, Beeler Ringo, Roy Tooms, Clarence Faulkner, Eli Hodges, and Bus Thompson.
