Because of his service in the War of 1812, Micajah Vivrett was granted land in Missouri. Micajah never made it home from the war having died at Fort Jackson, Mississippi. His son James and the rest of his heirs applied for the land grant during the administration of President James Monroe, whose name appears on the grant. There is no evidence that any of Micajah's heirs settled in Missouri, but several of his brother's grandchildren did.
