349. Neta Sue Parish
Sue Parish Roberts had lived with emphysema for over 10 years, had cancer of the breast and a double mastectomy followed by chemotherapy about a year ago, but five months ago it was discovered she had cancer of the lungs accompanied by a hole in one lung. While she was in the hospital trying to get the hole patched up, she had a heart attack. Since she was in such a weakened condition, the doctors told her family they could not give her any more chemotherapy and sent her home. Her husband Richard took care of her with the help of hospice workers. Rev. Bill Schibler attended to her spiritual needs. She put up a brave fight and managed to live five months. At her request, Richard sang songs she loved to her as she lay dying. She will be well remembered by her family and friends. Following cremation a Memorial Service was held at the First Baptist Church of Cranfills Gap, Texas at 2:30 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2001. Rev. Bill Schibler officiated at the service.
