Merka, Juanita Sue January 16, 1999 Juanita Sue Merka, 59, of Kirbyville died Jan. 16 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Kirbyville Assembly of God Church with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery under the direction of E. E. Stringer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church. A native of Freeport, she lived in Kirbyville 27 years, was retired from the Department of Human Services in Newton and was a secretary with the Department of Public Safety office in Jasper. Survivors include her husband, David Merka of Kirbyville; sons, Travis Frank Merka and Todd David Merka, both of Kirbyville; daughters, Terri Holmes of Fawil, Tammy Johnson of Trout Creek and Traci Adams of Newton; father, Garland Plummer of Danbury; brother, James "Jimmy" Plummer Jr. of Fort Worth; sister, Rita LeBeau of Danbury; and 12 grandchildren.
