195. Josiah Lee Wilson Jr

Nicknamed "Bud" and "Little Joe". He graduated from Jefferson High School. He worked for Gulf Pipeline, starting as a pipeliner and working his way all the way up to the position of Pump Station Supervisior. He retired from Gulf Pipeline after 41 years 8 months and served as Mayor of Goldsmith, TX from 1974 until 1984. He also held positions as a volunteer fire department Fire Chief and a councilman. He belonged to the Baptist Church and was a member of Trailer Town Travel Club.

Longview TX ~ Graveside services celebrating the life of Eunice B. Wilson, age 96 will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Core Cemetery. Gray, TX with Bill Wilson officiating. Mrs. Wilson was born in Hartzo, Texas on December 25, 1917 to William Russell and Oma B. Allen Light and passed away on June 20, 2014 after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Longview, TX for the past 5 years and was a former resident of the Gray, TX area, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, J. L. Wilson, Jr.; parents, Russell and Oma Light; daughter, Glenis Tanner, son, Jody Wilson, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her son, J. L. Wilson, III and wife Evva of Port Allen, LA; grandchildren, Patrick Tanner, Susan Tanner, Mary Wilson Arrasmith and husband, John; great grandchildren: Tyler Cole, Colt Tanner, Audrey Arrasmtih and Shiloh Arrasmith. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Williams and husband, Bob of Crowley, TX.


201. Thomas Alvin Wilson Sr

Funeral services for Thomas A. (Tommy) Wilson will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 29, 1996 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Irvin Boudreaux, pastor of Pinecroft Baptist Church. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at the burial in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The community has lost a dear friend with the death of Tommy. Mr. Wilson died suddenly on Tuesday, March 26, 1996 at the age of 69. He served his Country with the U.S. Navy in World War II and the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict, having a tour of duty in the South Pacific. Mr. Wilson served his community as a Shreveport Police Officer for over 20 years, retiring in 1969 as a Captain. He served his fellow man as a practicing attorney for the past 31 years and through many local charitable and civic organizations. Among those many organizations, he was a member of W. H. Booth Masonic Lodge #380 and a 32nd degree Mason and an El Karubah Shriner. He was preceded in death by his son, John Thomas Wilson; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Josiah Lee Wilson; two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Betty Wilson; his children, Thomas A. Wilson, Jr., Autumn Marie Moringstar and Madeline Wilson and his grandchildren, Selitha Wilson, Alyson Wilson, Trey Wilson, Jessica Frazier and Davey Wilson. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation for the care and friendship of DR. Clarence Teagle. Pallbearers will be members of W. H. Booth Masonic Lodge #380. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shreveport Police Department and Judges of the area courts. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
