We are sorry to say that Larry passed away this morning at 3:40 am with Becky and Roscoe at his side. He went very peacefully and he is now an angel watching over us. Becky and Roscoe have gathered up Abby and Eli and headed home to their mountain. They ask for a day or so of peace and quiet with Abby and Eli so that they can come back together as a family.Thank you for all your prayers and support. More info will come later regarding Larry's Celebration of Life ceremony. Please pray for Becky, Roscoe and the kids.Wednesday, July 13th

Larry's overall condition appears to be moving in the wrong direction. He had a terrible day, and seems to be going through a new stage of health that is difficult to put into words, except that he appears to be in great agony. Physicians appear to be less optomistic about his recovery. Please pray for Larry.Thursday, July 7th
Thank you all for your wonderful prayers and comments. Your support is invaluable and greatly appreciated. Larry is breathing on his own now, without the previous masks, tubes etc. No need for a tracheotomy. A feeding tube has been considered but can not be utilized at this time due to issues with his pancreas. He continues to be in a deep, unresponsive coma. His status is "critical/ guarded". His heart is improving, but has had substantial injury. His brain continues to function, though its level of functioning continues to be a big "unknown". He continues to be suctioned every couple of hours due to lung infection brought on by pool water.Thank you again for the power of prayer. Please direct your prayers towards Larry's "ability to swallow", and pray that "he might give us some level of response, such as squeezing our finger".We will do our best to keep you posted. :-)Monday, July 4th
Larry has made it to another day. He is still in a coma in critical/gaurded condition. He got to skip dialysis yesterday but is having it again today. His Kidneys just don't want to do their full job. His white blood cell count went up yesterday and so they did a CAT scan to check his liver and pancreous for damage. They did not find any massive damage but they did find 1.5l of fluid that they are now trying to figure out. All in all its another roller coaster day.Larry's Blog Spot- to keep him linked to "you".
The Worth-Jones drowning is an event of unspeakable tragedy, but my sources confirm communication between the family and The Coomes Center has not been heated.I have spoken to a number of people, all off the record. One source who witnessed most of the rescue, said it was conducted by the book. I believe the story.Another source believes Larry Worth-Jones did have a pre-existing condition, but an autopsy will probably not reveal why the incident happened. In the day's videotape of the victim, he is said to exhibit none of the usual symptoms of accidental drowning---no flailing, no struggling, none of the involuntary movements people make while drowning or beset by cramps. A call to the police would have only complicated the rescue. It's my understanding the family has not been ready to view the tape. Their time frame, and grief, should be respected.A public meeting last week is said to have only yielded eight people, four of whom were Coomes Center employees.Sensation-seeking news sources should stop chasing this story, and give this family time to heal. If they wish to come forward with a statement, no doubt they will do so in good time. Let's not bully them to do so, or drag this for days through newsprint.
