With Kalas after the legendary Methos, Joe sends MacLeod to seek help from the Watchers' top Methos scholar Adam Pierson. Little do either of them know, Adam is actually Methos himself.

At least 5000 years old, Methos has seen and done many things. He's also been many things, from doctor to murdering raider. While he asserts that his main concern is his own survival, Methos proves on many occasions how willing he is to put the well being of others ahead of his own.

Methos' biggest, baddest secret is that he used to be one of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As Death-on-a-Horse, he and brothers Kronos, Caspian and Silas leave a trail of death and destruction wherever they go. When Kronos shows up in the present wanting to reunite the old gang, Methos must play along in order to help MacLeod stop the Horsemen once and for all.

In his incredibly long life, Methos has seen religions come and go, and civilizations rise and fall. He's also quite the namedropper: Caesar, Nero, Helen of Troy, Mencius...Mick Jagger. He gives new meaning to the phrase, "been there, done that." And the only thing he knows that is certain is change, and those that are to survive must also change.
