Chapter 1
"Hey Jen!" DeAnne yells from her bedroom, trying to
keep her hand still while applying her eyeliner.
"You ready to go yet? You're so damn slow!" DeeAnne
modeled in front of the mirror, admiring her new silver metallic
pants with the black backless top she wore. While the pants, gave
a good view of her ass, the top hugged her upper body in all the
right places, making DeeAnne feel pretty damn good. She picked up
her lipstick and threw it into her purse. Turning to the door,
she spotted Jen in the doorway.
"Whoa!" DeeAnne's eyes opened wide at her roommate's
appearance.
"Damn girl! You're gonna bring down the house tonight!"
Jen smiled at the compliment and walked over to the mirror.
"Thanks Dee. I hope I look good enough." Jen decided to wear some tight black leather pants and a baby blue snake skin textured top. She had the chest for it, why not wear something that would make all the guys crawl on their feet? It WAS her first night out at an over 21 club, so she wanted to make a good first impresssion.
"This is gonna be a kick-ass birthday, Jen." DeeAnne says as she patted Jen on the back, grabbing her purse. "Now that you're finally 21, you can drink with the big kids now!" Jen spins around and looks at DeeAnne. "Excuse me? But I think I'm usually the one still standing
at all your drunken parties. I can drink any of your stupid guy
friends under the table!" Jen was a girl who never turned
down an offer for a drink. Although that sometimes got her in
trouble, being slipped drugs in her drink and waking up in
strange places one too many times.
"Yeah yeah. C'mon let's go! The guys are waiting!"
said DeeAnne as she walked out of her bedroom. Jen stopped
infront of the mirror, never hearing about any guys coming along.
"What guys? I thought it was just us goin out?" Jen
followed DeeAnne into the kitchen.
"Oh-I forgot to tell you. I invited a couple of friends of
mine along. To liven up the party, ya know? Who knows! You might
even get lucky with one of them!" DeeAnne looked at Jen and
smiled confidently at her idea. Jen just sighed and shrugged her
shoulders."Alright. Sounds good to me." replied Jen.
"Great! Well c'mon let's go." DeeAnne walked out the
door, keys in hand.
"Ok hang on lemme go get my purse." Jen walked back
into her room.
"Ok I'll be in the car." DeeAnne opened the fronjt door
and walked down the drivway to the car.
Closing her bedroom door, Jen walked over ot her night stand.
She sat down on the bed and opened the top drawer. She carefully
sifted through the the piles of pictures, paper, and gum
wrappers.
"Shit. I know I put them in here." she whispered to
herself.
Finally, Jen landed her hands on a smooth plastic bottle. Pulling
the bottle out of the drawer, she gently shook it beside her ear.
Jen guessed there were plenty of pills in the bottle to last a
few more weeks. She glanced at the labels on the bottle:
ALWAYS TAKE ON A FULL STOMACH. DO NOT CONSUME WITH ANY
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Jen ignored the warnings. She had been
taking anti-depressants for 6 weeks now and she never had any
side affects. She opened the bottle and shook out a a few little
tablets and swallowed them down with a flat Dr. Pepper sitting on
her night stand. Picking her purse up off the bed, she closed the
door behind her and left the house.
"What is taking her so long? We are gonna be so
late!" DeeAnne ran through every radio station, trying to
find a good song, when her cell phone rang.
"Hello?" DeeAnne answered.
"Hey DeeAnne!" said the voice on the other side.
"Nick! What's up buddy? Ya'll ready to go?" DeeAnne
adjust the volume on the radio so she could hear Nick's voice.
"Well, we're waiting for Kevin here, he can't find his
shoes!" A shout in the background on Nick's side caused a
giggle to come out of DeeAnne's mouth.
"Tell Kevin to take his time. Jen is taking an hour to walk
out to the car." DeeAnne told Nick.
"Oooh.." Nick replied. "The birthday girl?"
DeeAnne looked up to see Jen closing the front door of the
apartment and walking towards the car.
"Hey Nick. Jen is coming. We'll see you in a little while,
ok?" DeeAnne watched Jen make her way to the car, wishing
Nick would quit clowning and hang up. Nick manged to say goodbye
just as Jen opened the door and climbed into DeeAnne's little
white Plymouth Neon. It wasnt much, but it looked cute.
"Who was that, Dee?" Jen asked as she shut the car
door.
"It was one of the guys goin' with us. They said they'll
meet us at the club. So let's get goin!" DeeAnne started up
her car, pulled off the curb and sped off down the road towards
"The Green River".
