Chapter 6

"You sing beautifully. Dont worry." AJ said as the limo drove them straight to the recording studio. AJ had decided to go back to his recording career but this time, it wasnt going to be just solo. He had asked Jade to accompany him on a few of the songs. Jade was thrilled to be getting to sing professionally, but at the same time, her heart was about to just burst through her chest. "Here we are. Home sweet home." AJ joked as they climbed out and into the large building. "Oh my God..." Jade whispered as they walked through hall after hall to the elevator and up to the 12th floor. "Hey Rick!" AJ yelled at the guy sitting at the sound board in the back studio. "Alex! How ya doin' man?" Rick shouted back with a grin. The two shook hands and introductions were made. "She sings like an angel, Rick. You'll love it." AJ said with a smile. "You ready Coyote?" Jade nodded with a huge smile on her face. Her eyes were lit up like a Christmas tree and she was loving every minute of it.

Hours, days, months, and nearly a year later, the album came out. It was entitled "Devotion" after the title song about a person fighting against the odds to reach her dreams. It made Bilboard top 10 for 12 straight weeks and reached number one for about 9 weeks in a row. Tour began. AJ and Jade went their way, and Jodie and Howie went theirs. Destiny has a way of keeping friends together though...

It had been a year...

"Singer AJ McLean and fellow singer girlfriend Jade Williams, after a year are still going strong. 'We both share a deep love for music and for each other. We made it through the first two dates alive, touring has been a piece of cake.' McLean said when asked about their relationship and the stress of touring." Jodie read outloud to Howie from the morning newspaper. Howie smiled over at her from the kitchen where he stood making a simple breakfast for her. Jodie had a check up today, after all, she was 8 months pregnant. "Its so good to hear they're doing well. And we thought they'd never hook up!" Howie grinned. "Do you miss her?"

Jodie nodded. Tears filled her eyes. She had talked to Jade a total of about 3 times within the past year. They had grown up together. It was so hard not to see her everyday. Although, being with Howie made it a lot easier. Howie and Jodie had gotten married pretty soon after Jade and AJ hooked up, and now, after a year, Jodie was pregnant. They were both ecstatic about the new member-to-be of the family. Jodie sighed. "I wish Jade could be here for the birth..." "Me too, honey. Me too..." Howie replied. "Oh, wait- here's an interesting piece of information," Jodie said returning back to the newspaper. "In response to the idea of marriage, McLean and Williams replied with, 'We dont know. We arent going to jump into anything. We have a lot to do right now, but thats not to say it isnt a possibility in the future.' Isnt that crazy, Howie? They are so in love. Why not just get married?" "You forget, Jo. They arent like us. Commitment is a weird thing for them!" Howie said shrugging with a smile. "You're right... I hope everything works out for them...I hope that--" Jodie began before a severe pain shot through her stomach.

Howie jumped and ran over to her. "Whats the matter, Jodie? Are you alright?" Jodie nodded, then gripped his arm as another one shot through. Then, her eyes widened and a small smirk spread across her face. "Um, Howie... we have a problem." Jodie said through clenched teeth. "My water broke. I think we're about to have a baby."
