From the grave to the TV screen

Best-selling horror writer, V.C. Andrews is penning novels from beyond the grave, with the aid of a ghost writer, of course. Since her death nearly 10 years ago, more than half-a-dozen Andrews books have appeared in stores. Andrew Neiderman is the scribe who keeps the Andrews legacy alive, working from notes the author left behind and sometimes writing from scratch.

Now, the Andrews estate has struck a deal with CBS television for a four-hour mini-series based on her best-selling Ruby books.

The five novels - Ruby, Pearl in the Mist, All That Glitters, Hidden Jewel and Tarnished Gold - follow a young woman raised by her grandmother in the Louisiana bayou who discovers she has a twin sister in New Orleans.

Tarnished Gold, the final entry in the series, was published in February by Pocket Books. The five books have sold more than 10 million copies in the U.S.
