Funeral services for John Dedek were held from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home, followed by services at the Dubina Catholic Church on Thursday, July 19, beginning at 8:30 from the funeral home. Msgr. Szymanski officiated at the last sad rites. Interment was in the Dubina Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Dedek was born in Fayette County, June 24, 1874. He was reared in the Dubina section as the son of Mr. And Mrs. John Dedek, Sr. Most of his life was spent on the farm in that area and in 1938 he retired from the farm and moved to Schulenburg where he remained until his death. Mr. Dedek became ill about a year ago and passed away on Wednesday, July 18, at 2:00 a.m. He was a member of the Dubina Catholic Church.
He was united in marriage to Miss Otilla Klezel at Dubina in 1899.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Bayer and Mrs. Otto Kocian; one son, Eddie Dedek, all of Schulenburg; two grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Mican of Schulenburg and Mrs. Louis Godfrey of Los Angeles, California, and one brother, Louis Dedek of Houston.
His wife preceded him in death about five years ago.
