The Color Of Love

What is the color of Love?
Is it the color of a winter’s morning after the snow
The ice sparkling like crystals hanging from the trees
It is the beautiful Cardinal sitting on the new fallen
snow scratching for food.
It is the color of the lake as it’s frozen surface
glistens back to heaven

What is the color of Love?
It is the color of daffodils and lilies lining the path
Or the roses with their sweet, sweet fragrance
on the backyard fence
The sound of a robin as it returns
from it’s winter hideaway.
It is the color of the dogwoods
as they grace the delicate branches of spring.
It is the color of Easter bonnets
as ladies prepare for the Easter Services.
It is the color of green as the grass
and the leaves make their new year’s entrance.

What is the color of Love?
It is the color of the blue skies and soft fluffy
clouds as they wander across the sky.
It is whitecaps on the ocean
and the sail on the boats billowing in the
breeze of a warm summer afternoon at the beach.

It is the color of the blue bird feeding
her young in the nest just outside my window.
It is the color of children’s faces as
they play under a shade tree.

It is the color of a picnic spread
between two lovers in the park on a Sunday afternoon.
It is the color of wheat in a field along the road.
It is the fireflies as they dance in the night.
It is the color of watermelons
and strawberries fresh from the vines.

What is the color of Love?
It is the color of the trees in autumn
as they display their majesty.
It is the color of the pumpkins
laying in the farmer’s field;
Or, maybe it is the site of the family
sitting together by the fire on a cold autumn night.
It is the color of a couple holding hands in
front of a warm campfire.

What is the color of Love?
It is the color of all of these things and more.
It is the color of a soft billowy cloud
over the green grassy slope
where I lay looking up to the sky.
It is the color of my Lord as
he bled and died for me.
It is the color of my heavenly Father’s tears
as he watchedHis only begotten Son die for my sins.

Yes, Love has many colors
Colors that only our loving Heavenly Father
could design.
