"Canard" means that it has a horizontal wing on the front end, that more or less takes the place of the "conventional" horizontal tail found on most airplanes. | Many of the Dragonflies are powered by modified VW engines, though there are a few Continental and Subaru engines out there. We are planning to put a Corvair engine in ours! | ||
"Composite" means that it is constructed primarily from fiberglass cloth and epoxy. These materials give the aircraft the benefit of an extremely strong, lightweight package, with little or no worry of the corrosion problems of more "conventional" airplanes.
