Hsin-I "Wally" Wu grew up in Cut 'n Shoot, Texas. He is named after the Native American god of maize, Hsin-I Maize (aka 'god'). Friends began calling him Wally when they realized that no white person could correctly pronounce Hsin-I without swallowing their tongue. Just after his 16th birthday, he moved to Brownsville, TX where he picked up his accent that is still apparent today. After acting a small role in the hit daytime series "As the World Turns," he met his wife, Mrs. Wu, during a brief stint as a truck driver. He then quit the business and quickly earned a Ph.D. in bioengineering. |
