it's thursday of spring break, and I've eaten almost a whole jar of nutella since I've been home. mmmmm... my dad just told me he's going to drink a beer in the shower. yep, it's wild around here.

here I am in TC. both of my spring break adventures fell through, so I decided to spend it here by the bay. it's been nice. it never really gets dark here, so I feel like I have twice the break. during the day I spend my time in the sun and at night, I like to go and 'sun'bathe in the glow of the refineries. watch out delta zeta, your tanning booth cannot compare. other than that, I've been driving my car alot. today I discovered that if you shift into neutral while the cruise control is on, the RPM's will rocket right into that red range. quite a shock. also, when your dashboard light constantly says 'check gauges', it's not all that perilous. I've been ignoring it for months and nothing's blown up yet.

today in class my pen busted. I noticed that I had ink all over my hands at the end of lecture. it was after I left class, walked through the building, and saw my friend's look that I realized the ink was all over my face as well. no one ever tells me when stuff like this happens. I like that about people. :o)

well, today I almost fell down the steps near H2O fountain. I had a flashback to when I fell off the bus last semester. the steps were nothing compared to the bus; I bet people still laugh at that one. bring it on, steps.

Today on the bus I sat between two sorority-types both on their cell phones talking to someone about their V-day plans. after 5 minutes of listening to them, I started making the noise 'ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' really loudly. soon, they could no longer hear eachother on the phone and had to hang up. it was then that they apparently noticed they were sitting next one another and didn't have to be on the phone at all. they could continue their conversation face to face. one small step for girl...one large step for delta delta delta.

A really mean trick to play on someone would be to give them a box of trick nerds. instead of candy coated sugar crystals, you should coat little diamonds with candy. bye bye teeth.

I think there's about to be a mutiny in my 112 class. The students are beginning to question the professor's logic, and he doesn't seem to know how to respond. they are becoming more and more rebellious.

Today I dropped my Aggie ring for the first time. and it was in Zachry. I can't think of a better place to drop my ring for the first time.

what if you were explaining the origins of the word 'thus'? then it would be "blah blah blah....and thus, thus." that would be awesome.

The True Story of the Alamo:
So there were like 5 guys in the Alamo and the rest were women and children. And Santa Anna came along with his army of one million mexicans. And he gave the orders to his army "muerte los gringos!" But he specifically stated "muerte las damas y ninos primero!" So his powerful army of 100 million killed all of the women and children first and then the 5 men defending the Alamo, yelling "Remember the Alamo!" It wasn't until later, when he was captured while sleeping in his underwear somewhere in south Texas that he said "aiy de mi, tu cara me duelen mis ojos!" And that is why our friend and fellow biomedical engineer, (Santa) Anna Reza, changed her name to Annie so she would no longer face the embarrassment Santa Anna brought on his people.

IN STRANGE IRONY, DR. WU IS SUBJECTED TO DRAWN OUT, ESOTERIC LECTURE
Zachry 300L (AP): Thursday was an unusual day in the BMEN department. Yes, it was the day that a faculty candidate from Duke came and lectured on the biophysical aspects of dorsal fly embryos and morphogenesis. Amongst the students and observers was seasoned lecturer, Dr. Wally Wu. Finding himself on the other side of the table from his usual, lecturing, position, he was forced to see things from the perspective of students. Indeed, of his very students. As an adaptive process, he began to fidget in his chair and eventually ended up sitting in a sideways position. He alternated between leaning on his desk and sitting back, all in an apparent attempt to stay awake and focused. Although the lecture became tedious at times, Wu valiantly maintained a look of interest and focus throughout the lecture thus demonstrating the appropriate model for student behavior in his own lectures.

As I was walking to a meeting today, I saw a boy with a wooden sword in a sheath on his back. I thought, 'man, I don't even have to worry about Skeletor!' (you will only get this if you are familiar with He-man.)

Today in my 2 hr ME lecture:
prof: "well, I guess we'll have to use a 6 x 6 matrix to describe these 36 elastic elements"
student: "haha. haHA. HAHA. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
the prof stops lecturing, everyone looks at this guy, but he just keeps laughing out loud then he says "sorry, it's been a long day."
