Elisha Kibbe was the second son of Edward and Mary
Kibbe and was born around November 20, 1644. He became a joiner by trade, and when he was
nineteen years of age moved to Salem, Mass. There he married Rachel Cooke on October 12, 1667.
In 1680 or 1682 he moved his famil to Enfield Conn. where they were among the earliest settlers.
Elisha was active in town affairs and held various public offices including that of Selectman
and Constable. He died in Enfiled on April 3, 1735, and his widow died there, September 10, 1740. |
