Tools: screwdriver and sockets, cutters
Materials: 5/8" heater hose ~8', 5/8-3/8-5/8 heater hose tees, hose clamps, dish detergant, zip-ties
This turbo is water cooled. I ran the
two 5/8" hose from the turbo to the firewall where I
tapped into the
two coolant lines that go to the car's heater.
It doesn't matter which line you tap into, either way will
send coolant in a circuit through the turbo
cooling it. It was a little tight getting the hoses
onto the tees but
some detergent solved that. Here you
can see the tees already attached to
one end of the heater lines.
The water lines were run along under the distributor
cap and throttle body to tee up right by the
firewall. You can see them below, two
matching lines running into the heater hoses. A few zip
ties to keep them in place and double clamps
to the DET metal lines since they were just cut clean
off and had no flared ends.
Make sure where the coolant lines are run they
are positioned so
they don't rub against anything or get pulled
on by engine movement.
