                                                        Oil Pickup and Senders

Tools:  6" adjustable wrench, combination wrench, pliers, extensions, and uv joint

Materials:  steel braided hose ("dash 4" hydraulic hose, -4AN fitted), -4AN to 1/8 NPT adapter, 1/8 NPT tee,
1/8 NPT 1" extension, 1/8 BSPT to 1/8 NPT tee, Earls Blue Pipe Bushing Reducer
(aka 1/8 NPT female to 3/8 NPT male) p/n 991203, zip ties, teflon paste, epoxy

My turbo came with the oil pickup line already attached to the turbo, the other end terminated in
a -4AN fitting.  It took a tee (1/8 BSPT - 1/8 NPT - 1/8 BSPT) between the block and OEM sender  to an
1/8 NPT extension, then one tee for my aftermarket oil gauge sender and finally one 1/8 NPT to -4AN
adapter to attach the oil line.  Make sure it is tight and use teflon paste, mine leaked a little the
first time.  The oil line was run up around the top of the engine along under the throttle body and
around below the intake manifold.

Here is the assembly with factory and aftermarket oil pressure senders attached. Those little brass
fittings are pretty cool add a little bowl and some screens and you could make a nifty pipe for tobaccy!

The whole gizmo in place and hooked up. Use zip ties to keep the lines and wires neat and tidy.

**UPDATE** I've since gone to a Nissport 1/8 NPT tee adapter. Nice custom made part and with
less connections and machined steel I don't have to worry about leaks or failures. The old brass
setup worked fine for 20k miles but this was cheap insurance.

Water Temp Sender

There is also a pretty cool place to tap your water temp sender into. See the rear coolant drain
plug. It is the smaller plug in the center

Take it out. I used some extensions and an impact wrench to break it free

Then you can use this Earl's fitting as an adapter. Old plug left, new adapter and sender right.

The 3/8 NPT isn't a direct screw in but you can gently get it in there tight (not stripped, monkey!)
with a little epoxy to help seal the threads. With that in place your 1/8 NPT water temp sender
screws right in!

The whole gizmo hooked up Pt. II
Note the better orientation of the oil sender and oil pickup line with the Nissport adapter.
