Renovations, Remodeling & Repairs! Oh My!

but I will recite a famous quote from one of
their songs "What a long strange trip it's been!"
Yes, its almost a year (2000)
since my husband and I started remodeling this house that I grew up in and my grandmother had rented out for the past 15 years. I remember my words when we first got a look inside after evicting the tennant... "OH MY GAWWWWD!!!" But I will let the pictures speak for themselves. There was a ton of trash to get rid of. Basically what it was is described in the gif below.
So our house has been a construction zone since September of 1999. This is what the patio looked like when we started.
Check out the glue we had to scrape off the floor in the bathroom -- oh what a joyous occasion that was!

Next up is the kitchen. Two words -- rotted wood. These people had water leaks everywhere under the sink and never fixed them. So we decided to rip um out! Demolition can be fun!
After finishing that fun caulking stuff Dave fires up the butane torch!!! --- aaaaack!!!!!

Man At Work
New Cabinets and White tiles.... what a pain! But worth the effort. I'm convinced Bob Vila is possessed and this home repair stuff is for the birds! Okay, okay... its kind of fun and rewarding I suppose. Still, I'd rather be at my computer!
Some intense brain power was needed... measuring stuff and math --- YUK! Notice the sprouts protruding from our skulls! Too much thinking!!!
