"The City of Townsville...in all of its glory, it is the setting of this little story."
Villains: Sandman
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What's Up: Putting the whole world to sleep every night is exhausting. When the Sandman needs a little rest, he puts the entire world to sleep at once, including the Powerpuff Girls. How will anyone wake up again? Fortunately, the Girls discover they can dream travel, and they take off to battle the Sandman in slumberland. They show up huge-sized and then chase Sandman down a creepy corridor in slo-mo. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup become chickens and peck away at him. They attack him with pillows and eventually scare Sandman so badly that he never wants to sleep again.
Stuff You Might Have Missed: The entire show was written in rhyme like a children's bedtime story. Lots of clocks in the Sandman's house have weird names like or misspellings: Tyokyo, Batu, Hawai, Zimba, Zakop. Many backgrounds in the dream sequences are not animated, including several reminiscent of the boat ride in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."
Sandman (singing): I'm the little Sandman, that's no doubt. Putting you to sleep is what I'm about. When your eyes get heavy, don't you pout. I'll show up and put you out.
