Kevin Kilcarney Chesterton was born in the year 2573. His mother was Irish, his father English. They met while
attending British University. Erin Kilcarney was studying philosophy, Markham Chesterton was studying law. The
subjects sum up their personalities admirably. They decided to live together to cut expenses and share company.
Comfortable together, they were never really “in love” by all accounts. Kevin was born two years into the relationship.
His mother was his main parental contact, his father's practice precluding closeness.
When Kevin was four, his mother left him with a friend to go shopping. She never returned. Markham instituted a
search, but no conclusions were reached. Suddenly faced with raising a small child alone, Markham hired a nanny
and basically continued to ignore the boy as he had always done. The child was bewildered by the change. Feeling
at fault, Kevin worked hard to develop an engaging personality-more by instinct than conscious thought at this stage.
When Kevin was six, his father enrolled him in the Lords of Discipline as an Acolyte. Wanting desperately to please
his father, Kevin tried hard to fit in. As he grew older, he grew more and more disillusioned by the Code the Lords
were attempting to instill in him. At fifteen, on the eve of his vows, he left the Society.
He returned to his father's house to tell him of the decision, and Markham threw him out. Kevin was advised never
to return or to seek to claim any part of the Chesterton fortune. He took his mother's name and broke all ties with the
Chesterton side of his family.
Finding himself completely on his own for the first time in his life, Kevin decided to join the Uniglobal Surveillance
Agency because he had learned that US was the only possible check on the power of the Lords. It was here that he
met and became inseparable from Jeremy Fentress.
After several years of training and field experience on the rolls of Uniglobal, it was decided to set up a special
services team to be known as Full House under Kevin's command. He was chosen as leader for his distinctive attributes
despite older and more experienced agents being attached to his squad. The team was mustered out of the official US
organization. Kevin's cover was that he had “retired” to seek an indolent life as a playboy. If Markham had been
unhappy with Kevin's entry into US, he was livid with this development, and publicly denounced his son.
Bottomline profile: Ace Kilcarney is a self-made leader, not a natural one. He has a genius intellect, but a
deep-seated inferiority complex he has learned to mask with a charismatic dash. He has an almost preternatural ability
to divine possible outcomes from given facts.
