I am currently attending The University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College where I am majoring in English with a minor in Psychology. UTB also happens to be my second home since I work as an office clerk for The School of Business.
GO SCORPIONS! STING 'EM HARD!
(Right) I had the opportunity to take a picture with the President of UTB/TSC, Dr. Juliet Garcia. Now how many
college students can say that they have actually spoken and met their university President?
Not many, but I have! It was during our city's annual Charro Days celerbation when Miriam
and I spotted Dr. Garcia on her way to take part in the festivities. After some conversation,
she graciously accepted to take a picture with us. "Tia Julia" is strutting a traditional Mexican
dress with matching head wrap and since I had taken off the rest of my outfit before we saw the Prez, I quickly put on my sombrero! We're so festive!
The UTB/TSC 1st Annual Softball Tournament was held 8/7/04 at the Scorpion Baseball Field and I played on the Academic All-Stars team. We had people from the President's office, VP's office, Registrar's office, School of Business and information systems. Dr. Boze was our captain and Jerry Mtz was our coach. I rotated between 1st base and Right field. Our team had some very good players and played well for only one week of practice; our energy was always high!
GO ACADEMIC ALL-STARS! :)
