IN A CORNER

In a dark little corner
All curled in a ball
A frightened child sits
crying all alone
Scared and confused
Hurt and betrayed
Wondering what she did
To deserve being treated this way
Was it something I did
Or something I said
All kinds of thoughts
Run through her head
All is quiet right now
Does she dare move
She doesn't want to make
A mistake again
So she stays in the corner
Scared and alone
Hoping and praying
That all this will soon end
