Survivors
We are many
We are strong
Read our story
Hear our songThese words are as true today as they were back then. In the first couple of months, our content was made up almost by Themestream articles and poems. Today, several of those original authors are still with us but have found other avenues for having their work published. It has been a hard road at times but a rewarding one.
Survivor Haven has come a long way as well from that first issue with its plain blue page, no graphics and problematic links. Thanks to many who offered help it has grown to include an Internet reference page, library with book reviews, art gallery with many fine posters and prints that can be purchased online as well as a strong, dedicated readership following. To these readers we would like to offer a heartfelt thank you. It is because of you; Survivor Haven continues to not only survive but also to grow. Thank you!
For our regular readers and contributors, I wish to appologize for not having a March issue. The reasons are very involved but anyone interested in knowing what could be so terrible in the Perry household that I wasn't able to complete an issue, please read: Tenna's Excuse.
Susanne Lux returns this month to Survivor Haven with a personal essay and two poems. They are: Monumental Moments in which she discusses two pivotal moments in her childhood and how they affect her still today.

Newcomer Babs Neufeldt relives a turning point in her life and tells how it came to happen in:
Little Girl LostRebecca McCoy has generously offered three beautiful poems for this month's issue. They are: Passing Time and Snake

Tenna Perry gives a glimpse into the life of domestic abuse in: Diary of A Battered Housewife

For all who love to read and/or write poetry, be sure to check out the Fourth Annual THE SACRED CIRCLE POETRY CONTEST hosted by Susan Maree Jeavons, former contributing editor at Suite101 on child abuse and recovery as well as frequent contributor to Survivor Haven.
