Labyrinth

He twisted her and turned her round,
Led her deep into the maze.
Until no trace of home was found.
She circled, wandering in a daze
Until she reached the very core.
Looking up, in agony
She spied him watching from above
Laughing, cackling gleefully.
From somewhere deep within she found
The secret to her freedom.
With lightning stare, she met his gaze,
“You have no power over me!”
And suddenly as if unbound,
Pillars crashed upon the floor.
Fear aside, she dared looked down
There was no labyrinth anymore.
She looked around and smiled at last.
The labyrinth crashed from floor to dome.
With resolve, she stepped around the trash
And walked the path to home.
