Before the birth of Christianity, there were the "Earth based" faiths that today seem to be grouped under the catch all term of Pagan.
Contrary to popular belief, Pagan does not mean Satanic, supposed black masses or evil curses. It does include a respect for Mother Earth, the Moon and the Sun as well as for all creatures upon the earth.
