Family Photo Album: Part 2

Thomas Viverette (1750-1791) had three sons who carry on the family name in America. Lancelot and Micajah migrated to Tennessee after 1800. Most of their descendants spell the family name VIVRETT or VIVRETTE. The youngest son James remained in North Carolina. His descendants spell the name VIVERETTE. The pictures on this page show some of their descendants.

Elmer Joseph Vivrett (1891-1980) was the son of William Washington Vivrett, great grandson of Lancelot. He and his wife Maggie reared five children in Missouri, one of whom was Robert Kenneth Vivrett (1933-1997), the father of Kathleen Wann. Larger View

Mary Lillia Weaver Batts was the granddaughter of Obedience Viverette, who was the daughter of James Viverette of Nash County, NC. James was the youngest son of the original Viverette, Thomas.

Errol is the son of Thurla Batts pictured above. Today he is a retired commercial airline pilot. His brother Walter is a retired civil engineer.

Thomas Jefferson Vivrette(1904-1992) and wife Leola Dale Barkley Vivrette. Thomas was the great grandson of Lancelot Vivrett of Wilson County, Tennessee.Lancelot's youngest son was Lancelot Alanson Vivrett. Alanson left Tennessee after 1860 and his children eventually settled in western Kentucky around Hickman and Graves Counties. Thomas's father was the youngest son of Alanson.

Robert Vivrette of Graves County, Kentucky, is the son of Thomas and Leola Vivrette.



The family of Ray and Virgie Viverette (1997)

These children make up the eight generation of Viverettes in America. Virginia played basketball for the University of Texas. Today she is a teacher and coach in Houston. Michelle is now 6 feet tall and plays basketball for the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Thomas is a sophomore at San Jacinto College where he is studying diesel technology. Matthew just enjoys being a seven-year-old. Ray and Virgie both work for Barbers Hill High School. He is an English teacher and she is an administrative assistant. They have been married 25 years.
