One of the deepest fighters ever:8.5

Fighting games have always been a good multiplayer genere. Your friends would come over and play for a few hours and leave. But after they left you had no desire to play through the single player mode. SF Alpha 3has changed this. What you have is one deep game with so many modes and types of matches to play through.

This is all of the Alpha Characters and Super Street Fighter characters rolled up into one big game. The selection is well over 20. The single player mode offers a new mode of play called world tour. This basically is the meat of single player play. You really fight a bunch of people over and over again but in different ways. You might fight 3 Blankas at the same time or you may have to damage them with only super combos. Doing this mode allows you to get hidden characters. Also you character gains experience which you can save and load on the VS mode to beat up on friends. The control is the basic SF tradition. There are 3 different super modes. X A and V isms which all vary. X ism basically does a super that takes a while to charge up, but you get a longer guard crush bar. Vism lets you turn into a bunch of clones of you charcter and attack at the same time for a shrt while. Aism lets you use supers. There are 3 more different modes but I forgot 2 of them. Classic mode gives you no supers or enhancements, but regular attacks take a little more off and you get unlimited guard crush. All of this makes for one deep game.

Drawbacks are that the music is only so so and the graphics are nothing special. Also the moves are freakin hard to do on a regular Sony control. You need a controller with a nice firm D Pad.

Other than those minor flaws this is a buy. One of Capcom's finest efforts.
