The controls are smooth, making battles and menu navigation quicker. Your characters move fast on the maps and go where you direct them. Overall satisfactory to me.
GFX and sound-This is a nice category, but it does not shine there. Graphic style is similar to FF7, with blocky characters and polygonal enemies. The maps and colors are pretty eye-catching, but nothing stellar. Spell effects are nice, but could have been better (I guess Square is spoiling me -.-).
Gameplay was the big draw for me. Battles are innovative, requiring a system of moves to be entered in order to attack. This system has a lot of variety, but sometimes makes the battles drag on a lot, especially on bosses. Spells are a pain in the ass to acquire and level up. The more powerful ones are not all that strong and are absolute MP killers.
The game itself is pretty fun, with decent dialogue translation and occasional funny tidbits. Overall, this is not a bad game to play or own, considering it was developed by a small company (Contrail). Overall, you will not be dissappointed.-Joel- Score:8.25
