Well I'm glad you asked. The problem is that this game will not keep your attention for more than 10 minuites. The game is too short and is not fun at all when playing solo, bear in mind that the reviews are reviewed solo. However if you need a solid fighter to throw a party with then look no further.
This is a great game on a multiplayer basis. However that does not mean buy the game as you will be stuck with it after the fiesta is over. If anything this warrants a rental. Unless you live in a highly competitive household , spend your money elsewhere, like on Smackdown!

Like it was mentioned above, this is a pretty shallow fighting game. However, do not let yourself say that this game is not good because of that. I still have yet to see a fighter with depth.
This game is pretty good on the graphics side as well as the gameplay. Animation runs smooth and the controls are almost seamless. The easy move controls as well as the varying modes of gameplay(beginner, easy, hard) make this a game that newbies and experts alike can play.
Like said before, this is not a solo game. It is a port of an arcade fighter, which means that it is designed for multiplayer. If you have a few buddies who come over for the occasional visit and you have some money to shell out, then you might want to purchase it. Otherwise it is only worth a rental.
The game itself is too easy on 1P mode, as the AI is pretty easy. A good game overall, but if you are looking for more challenge and a little more depth and replayability, get Alpha 3. -Joel-
