Good grief. Whats up with this game? I realize that this game is 4 years old but games on the SNES move quicker than this ridiculous title. I had played the PS version and while it was barley decent, I thought about buying it if I ever found it cheap.Well I did but it was for the Saturn, and seeing how I am building a collection for it I thought what the heck! It was only $4 but I don't even think it was worth it. After reading in old EGM's how Saturn arcade ports are better than their PS counterparts I was already stoked on playing this game. However I was very disapointed with the results.
First lets get the good things out of the way. Errr..... well the supers are nice and they have seemed to include some of the more popular comic heroes.
Now the bad things are here in abundance as well. First is the dang music and sounds. During the match expect to play half of it in total silence at times as it seems that Capcom can't seem to fix this bug on any of their Saturn games. It was on Alpha 1 and now its here. The graphics are are really bad for a fighting game. No razzle and Dazzle here. In fact one stage is there is a gray background which is suppossed to resemble scenary from a mountain or something. I know I know. "Graphics don't make a game" but gameplay does and in this category Marvel falls flat on it's face. Am I suppossed to use a ram cart add on for this? For the sake of the game I hope so because some of you may be laughing your asses off while watching this horribly slow game in action. Yes there is slowdown, but I could forgive a little. Too bad there is more than a little. The whole game is freakin slow. Besides the Character selection screen expect to be playing one of the slowest games of all time. Yes you can check if your joystick is on slow-mo but it won't help because this game is slow.
Overall this game should be in your library if you own a Saturn. And if it's FREE. Anything over $5 is robbery on the sellers part. Instead of one of those fabled Saturn Arcade ports all you get in one of the worst conversions of all time. I'll pass on this easily.
