This is a really simple and fun RPG that almost anyone can pick up and play without any problems.This is a Final Fantasy but it may not seem like it. The battles are kind of Dragon Quest like except you can see yourself and the attacks you do.
The story is somewhat vague but it really does not matter since the game is really fun. You have one other individual in your party that changes after a while.The characters are ho hum but they get the job done in terms of advancing the story line. The best feature of all is the music. Some of the best tunes I have ever heard come from this game. The boss music is killer. Also the save function is the best in the history of all video games. You can save anywhere and anytime except while talking or in battle.That really saves a bunch of time and keeps me sane in case I ever die.Speaking of that there is also another innovation. In this game when you die in a battle you don't get a game over screen as with most games. You get a choice of trying again and if you decide no then you start at the last saved spot. It is a simple additive that works great. Also the spell system is simple. There are only a certain number of times you can cast a spell.You may have 20 white magic spells which means that you can cast any of the white magic spells 20 times.
Overall simple is the name of the game here folks. While not totally groundbreaking it is pretty fun and a great RPG to start with. More for a beginner but can also serve as a diversion for a day or two.
