Put the 2 popular games in a mixture, press button, take out results, shake, and put it in a box until it reaches the market.
That's how I believe was the making of Panic Bomber, a regular, not bad, little tetris/puyo puyo clone that I've been playing for some time...I like it even though it's not the best game on the Neo Geo...the story has yet been discovered, although its bomberman based:)
So how do we play this nice but not so great game you ask? Well, the game is like tetris and/puyo puyo, you get colorful blocks (let me rephrase that, you get colorful blinking heads of bomberman)and you need to make them dissappear by stacking them together either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally(the usual)now what happens is that when you do, bombs appear from the bottom and explode only when you put a red bomb near them(it sometimes appears in the game, usually when you do a mass series of block killing)now a red bomb explodes, thus making the bomb near it explode, causing mass explosions between each bomb, why would I wanna do that you ask? Cause it sends junk(let me rephrase that too, actually it sends poor, scared black blocks that blink once in a while, only to die horribly later on)to your opponent. You win when the other side is full, quite simple huh?...nope, it gets better: also, after some time, you will get a HUGE bomb that simply cleans your area of everything, there are rocks that fall later in the game and cannot be demolished. The game has Vs. player and Vs. CPU(you play against bomberman's older enemies) which is really kinda limited, if you ask me, plus the fact that whoever you choose doesn't affect the game(unlike other games, say Magical Drop).
So, onward with the point giving!
GRAPHICS=7:Bomberman style! I like it! The background isn't much, but sorta cute, and the blocks animation is nice too, the opponents have animation, but not as much, but it is nice too.
SOUND=5:The music is very good too, old Bomberman tunes! But sadly, the sound FX aren't much, they keep repeating themselves and are annoying at some point in the game.
CONTROLS:I think I'll skip this one. If you have problems with them, I think you have problems counting to 20 and tying your shoes.
FUN=8:I like it! Its quite fun if you ask me...but others might disagree with me. I played it more than one time and its pretty nice to play for 2, although there are other games for the Neo Geo that are much, much more fun than this game.
REPLAY VALUE:You betcha! Again, some might disagree, but I play it a lot.
