Ahhhh! Almost everyone who had a NES has heard of this title. Whether it was Mike Tyson's or just the regular Punchout, almost everyone had or played this game. This was THE best boxing game for a while, and in dome extreme cases still is.
The game starts off very easy against Glass Joe. Everytime you won a match you would rise in rankings all the way to the title fight of that cirsuit. There were 3: minor, major and world. After working your way up it starts to get harder and harder until only players with experience are able to advance. There are plenty of boxers to fight. Each one has their special punch and weakness. Some you may have to fight twice. Some only once. Each fighter also has their own distinct fighting pattern as well. Mario is the ref and you get advice from your trainer Doc between rounds. This game is a blast to play.
That is until you get to Mr. Dream or Mike Tyson. They are freakin hard to beat. I still can't beat them but I have witnissed the demise. One hit knocks you out. This makes getting knocked out in the 1st round a easy task. When my friend beat Mr. Dream the damn NES stoned. Someone does not want me to see the ending of this game.
In either case do your self a favor and pick this game up. Jabs and uppercuts, along with Mike Tyson and Mario. What could be better?
