This game is an rpg in every aspect, including menus. There are tons of menus to navigate with some learning curve, but luckilly they are easy to learn. Many are indepth, especially with item creations.
Gameplay-Controls are smooth, and animations are fluid. The battle system on this game deviates from most traditional RPG's in that you actually control movements and attack for one character while AI controls others. Battles are more interactive, thus making them harder(last boss) and more fun to play. There is difficulty to be found here, especially on the later parts. Do not be surprised if you have to try 5 times to beat a boss. The last boss has to be the most difficult I have ever faced. I died at least 15 times before I won, and that was on the default easy setting. Item creation and skills are a big draw, as you can make armor, items, tools, etc. and learn skills that actually help a bunch.
Graphics are a nice site, as rich colors and the art style complement each other. Characters and monsters all move smoothly with no slowdown and lots of detail. Music is crystal clear and good, this game has an excellent soundtrack. Voiceovers are average at best, and some is horrible (Noel). The voices are some dialogue and mostly oneliners and grunts, etc.
This game is fun to play, as the battles and menus are interactive and addicting. Character development is average, but the story and Private Action system helps this move along. The story is good, and will keep you intrested all of the way through.
Here is a game you will play again from time to time. There are 80! endings and 2 characters to choose. Choice affects ending and party members. Not bad at all.
If you happen to like RPG's like me, then by all means get this, it is cheap now, and you will get your money's worth. That's a gurantee.-Joel-
