The first one was a great hit that everyone adored, if you had a Genesis. This is a review of the second one and unlike movies or TV shows, sequels to videogames are actually good if not great. I was really looking foward to playing this Final Fight clone.
The first thing you will notice is that there are 2 new characters to choose from. Also each one has their own strengths and weakness. One is slow but powerful while another is fast but weak. Blaze is balanced so I used her.Also new to the series is the new duel mode. Not only can you play with a person but also against them. There are around eight stages, I forgot, but each one is pretty good in length. The bosses, for the most part, are fairly easy. The game controls respond fluidly and with ease. If you are surrounded by hordes of enemies you will not get as frusturated since the controls work so good. The music is okay, last stage is my favorite tune in the game.
The game does have its downfalls as well. The graphics look really outdated, duh!!, and some of the sounds sound pretty muffled. Also some of the characters move fairly stiff and the enemies get repitive, wow they get new shirts every stage. The ending sucks to since it explains none of the story at all. I don't even know what it is about aside from beating some evil guy.
Well since the game is fairly cheap and it is pretty fun I say buy it. But it may lose a little luster the second time through.
