This game is much better than the original seeing how I can actually stand playing this. The first may have been much more innovative but now it sucks, a reaview on that will come soon. This game while pretty good is pretty shallow and can be conqured in a matter of minuites literally.
First the graphics are pretty darn good for a Saturn game. The game moves very fluidly and looks real nice in the proccess. I liked it a lot initially since it moved 4 times as fast as the original. It was also easy to pick up and learn. That is pretty much where the praise ends however and whats left is a really shallow game.
There are not that many characters to choose from in the first place meaning that even if you have friends to play with, they are not going to want to play this for long. The easy pick up and play turns out to be a button mashing fest as all that happened during matches was countering combos. There are no special moves what so ever in this title at all. Also missing from the formula is secrets to move the single player mode along.That would have helped tha game a lot. The game winds up becoming boring and dull after a while which basically leaves you no reason to play this game again.
Well I got the game for $2 so if you find it for that much you may as well get it. It is not horrible but it is not great either. I have never been a real big 3D fighting fan anyway so maybe thats part of the score. But it is shallow and really not one of the best there is on the Saturn. If you are a VF freak then spring for it if you don't have it already. However if you are a casual 3D gamer then you may want something else.
