Jackie's Story
Here's my story of how Steve and I meet, fell in love, then took the plunge into marriage.

Well I had been enjoying the single life. I was learning more about who I was and making changes for the better in my life. At the time when Steve and I meet, I was working with elementary school children. At night I enjoyed going clubbing and hanging out with my friends and sisters.

I remember the night Steve and I meet like it was yesterday. That night a friend of mine convinced me to go out to Scott's Perfect Timing for a few beers. We were just talking and I remember Steve watching us and listening. We ended up chatting with each other, then later going to get breakfast. After breakfast, I gave Steve my number and we said "good-bye". About a week later, he called. The funny thing was I never expected the call. It really surprised me! That night, our first date, we rented some movies.

About six months later, we decided to move in together. I was uncertain at first about moving in together, but I decided to try it. I was very happy with our relationship and felt so comfortable with my decision. We learned a lot about one another and had our disagreements. But my relationship with Steve was so different from other relationships from my past.

How I knew he was the one? Well it's a funny story, but important to me. We were cleaning out the dishwasher together and at that moment I saw us growing old together. It was as if we became my Grandparents for a moment. My Grandparents always shared cleaning out the dishwasher, plus I wanted a marriage like theirs someday. That's when I knew Steve was the one I could spend a lifetime with.

Steve surprised me by proposing on Christmas Day 1998. He got me good! I was speechless when he asked me. It was cute how nervous he was too. So, we began planning and set the date for October 13, 2000. Signing the contract really made it seem real and trying on wedding gowns.

We had a perfect day for our wedding. Absolutely everything went as planned the day of our wedding. The week prior had some scary moments, but it turned out PERFECT. I have to say, I will never forget that day. It makes me smile and brings back all the feelings of that wonderful day.

I can honestly say that I have the best man in the world. I couldn't be more happier or luckier. He is so good to me and has brought so much happiness to my life. I will always love him dearly, he has my heart for eternity. Together we will fulfill our life with more happiness than I ever dreamed possible.

For Steve...I love you, Steve, until eternity... You are my husband, my lover, and my life long friend.
