"So...what time will you be home tomorrow?" Mr. Ishida asked.
"Umm...two at the latest, Dad," said Matt.
"Okay. TK's coming at four. He's having dinner with us. Don't fill up on junk!"
"K. Bye Dad!" Matt said, as he hoisted his bookbag up on his shoulders. He closed the door behind him, and started walking off to the subway. Tai's house WAS within walking distance, but it was dark, and the subway was safer than the streets. As Matt walked, he began to think. What should I say to Tai's mom? I don't want to suck up, but I don't want to be rude... He walked down the subway stairs and went to a machine and bought a ticket. Hey...I hope Tai has a bunkbed...cuz he didn't ask me to bring a sleeping bag... The thought of sleeping in the same bed with Tai made Matt feel funny. He stepped into the subway car, and deposited his ticket, and sat down. His face felt hot, and a lady sitting across from him stared.
"Are you okay?" she asked skeptically. Matt put a hand to his face.
"Yeah...I just had an embarassing thought is all..." he murmured. The lady laughed, then took out a book from her purse and began to read. Matt went back to thinking. Why did I even think that? What's wrong with me? Only gay guys think of that...oh god. It's true...I'm gay aren't I? What if I am? Oh god! What if I like Tai? I think I do like Tai...oh my god again! I like Tai! Hmm. "That's something you don't think everyday." he said aloud. The lady across the aisle gave him a weird look and went back to reading. He tried to think of something else. The very idea was too impossible to contemplate. Matt, gay? Matt, the one with a girlfriend every week? Impossible...wasn't it? He thought of his Sega Genesis, at home under his bed collecting dust. The more he thought of it, the less he thought of possibly liking Tai...though in the back of his mind, he knew it was totally true. He got off the subway, and continued to think hard about his Sega. It worked, he almost went past Tai's apartment building. He stopped himself just in time, and walked up 19 flights of stairs. He was out of breath as he reached the top. He went to Tai's door and rang the doorbell.
"Hello Matt! My goodness you look tired! Did you walk up the stairs?" asked Mrs. Kamiya as she let Matt in. Matt nodded and took off his shoes (a typical thing to do when you enter the Japanese home) and set them by the door. "Why didn't you take the elevator?" she asked. He had to catch his breath.
"El-elevator?" he asked. Mrs. Kamiya laughed.
"I'll show it to you later. Do you want some water?" Matt nodded.
"Okay, I'll get you some. TAI! MATT'S HERE!" yelled Mrs. Kamiya as she got out a glass and ran some water in it. No response. She handed Matt the glass and knocked on Tai's door.
"TAICHI KAMIYA! YOUR GUEST IS HERE!" she shouted. Matt heard a faint scuffling sound behind the door.
"Hold on!" Tai called faintly through the door. Then he cracked it open. He looked past his mother to Matt.
"Hi Matt! Come on in!" he said. His mother gave him a look, and then smiled at Matt as he went in through the narrow opening. Tai shut the door quickly behind them. He smiled nervously, and then wrung his hands as he paced around. "So uhh...what do you want to do?" he asked. Then he stopped acting so nervous. "Sorry I'm being like this, I'm just...I dunno. Anyways. Whaddya wanna do?" Matt put his book bag down.
"Umm...nah, it's dumb. You have Soul Calibre right? We can play that..." Matt said. Tai tilted his head slightly.
"No, what?" asked Tai. Matt felt nervous too. He didn't know how he should act, now that he decided he liked Tai...oh well. Here goes.
"You have a telescope right?" asked Matt, blushing. Tai nodded. He was almost caught off guard by staring at Matt though...he was cute when he blushed! Tai liked Matt. A LOT. But of course he couldn't tell him that. Look at all the girls at school who like him! The least I can have is his friendship...don't blow it.
"You like astronomy? That's not dumb Matt," Tai said. How romantic, he thought to himself though. Matt smiled.
"I like to look at the stars," said Matt. Very romantic, thought Tai. Tai went to his closet, and pulled out a long box, opened it, and pulled out a telescope and tripod.
"Come on, we can go out on the back deck," Tai said, opening the sliding glass door. Matt went out first, and Tai followed with the telescope. He set it up, and pushed the eyepiece towards Matt.
"Thanks," said Matt. He looked through the eyepiece, and turned the scope slightly, looking for Delphinius, his favorite constellation. He grinned as he found it. He moved away from the eyepiece and looked at Tai. "Here, take a look," he said. Tai closed one eye and looked through.
"Delphinius. One of my favorites," Tai said, looking at Matt and grinning. Matt was surprised.
"I didn't know you knew the stars, Tai," he said. Tai nodded.
"Lemme show you my favorite..." Tai said, looking through the eyepiece again. He tilted the telescope more upwards, then moved back. "Check it out," he said. Matt looked. It was beautiful! It looked like a cloud of stars and now and again, little sparkles shot out of it. "Wow...what is it?" asked Matt, not taking his eye off of it.
"Star cloud...isn't it pretty?" asked Tai. "Beautiful..." said Matt softly. Then he mentally smacked himself. Oh great...that sounded SOOOO gay... He looked at the star cloud in silence for awhile. It's now or never, thought Tai to himself, And it's just a harmless question.
"Matt?" he asked.
"Hmm?"
"Have you...ever kissed anyone?"
"Yep."
"What was it like?"
"Well..." Matt's heart pounded as he looked at Tai. "Why?"
"I...was...just wondering," Tai said, blushing.
"It was like this," said Matt. He walked a step closer to Tai, and gently pressed his lips against Tai's. Then he pulled away. Tai's face was crimson.
"Oh..." Tai muttered. He turned away. OH MY GOD! he screamed in his head.
"Sorry. Did I offend you or anything? Sorry Tai...I'm sorry..." Matt said. Tai turned around.
"No...no...it's okay...I just wasn't expecting that...whoa. My heart's beating like crazy...phew. It wasn't bad though..." Tai said. Matt nodded.
"Nope...umm...that was just a peck though..."
"Oh...yeah. Well, I never did that before either," said Tai. Matt looked up at the sky.
"Well uhh...do you wanna know a real kiss feels like?" he asked. Tai's eyes widened.
"Are you serious? Really? I mean...this doesn't make us gay, or anything, does it?" he asked. Matt's heart sank a little. I guess this means Tai's not interested in me...
"No of course not," was all he said aloud.
"Okay..." So Matt put his hands under Tai's chin, and kind of held his face, and they pressed lips again. Tai closed his eyes as Matt slid his tongue into his mouth.
WHOA! This feels so...COOL! OH MY GOD, Matt is KISSING ME! Tai returned the kiss pretty well for his first french kiss. He was about to pull away, when Matt moved his hands behind Tai's head and held it so he couldn't pull away. Ummm...okay. I guess if he doesn't want to stop...not that I MIND or anything, thought Tai. About ten seconds later, Matt stopped and backed away from Tai. He put his hands in his pockets, and turned away.
"I'm so sorry Tai...I just couldn't...help it. I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that," Matt muttered. Tai frowned.
"It's okay. Really. I don't mind. At all...I...I mean, what I'm trying to say is--"Tai was cut off by his sister Kari yelling.
"DO YOU GUYS WANT ANY COOKIES? I JUST MADE THEM!" Tai grabbed his telescope and walked inside, followed by Matt. Matt closed the door behind him, and watched as Tai put the scope back into the box. Then he followed Tai silently as they went to the kitchen. Kari gave them each a huge chocolate chip cookie.
"Fresh from the oven. Only one though, k?" she said. The boys nodded. Matt wolfed down his, barely tasting it, while Tai savored each bite. Then they went back to Tai's room without a word. Matt was pacing around.
"Tai, I could go home if you wanted me to," said Matt. Tai sat on the edge of his bed. He shook his head.
"No...Only if you want to."
"You're not...uncomfortable that we kissed?"
"Not really...I actually...enjoyed it Matt."
"You did?"
"Yeah...umm. Hold on a second," Tai said, reaching under his mattress. He pulled out a thin black book. He handed it to Matt.
"Here."

"So did I...so. Can I officially ask you out then?" asked Matt with a grin. Tai nodded.
"Umm, gosh Tai...err, gee, what I'm trying to say is, well uhh...will-you-go-out-with-me?" Matt asked, somewhat sarcastically.
Tai nodded. "Yes!" he said. They laughed.
Then Matt looked serious. "So we're official now?"
"Yeah...umm, don't tell my parents yet. They're open minded, but you know..."
"Yeah. So off topic, where am I supposed to sleep?"
"Oh...god, I didn't even think about it when I called. You didn't bring a sleeping bag, did you?" asked Tai.
Matt shook his head. "Damn. Well, I've got one, I'll sleep on the floor."
"No, I will," said Matt. Tai shook his head stubbornly.
"No, you're the guest, I will." Matt grinned mischiviously, then pounced on Tai.
"I guess I'll have to sleep with you," he said, laughing. Tai laughed too. Then they were gazing into each other's eyes. Tai was being mesmerized. Wow. Matt has such pretty blue eyes. Like oceans or sapphires... and they were kissing again. Not frenching, but something else new to Tai. Matt was sort of nibbling on Tai's lower lip as they kissed. Tai would have wanted to do the same to Matt but--
"Boys, make sure to keep it down! Kari's asleep and we're going to bed!" called out Mrs. Kamiya.

They waited until they heard Tai's parents' door click shut.
"Don't worry about Kari. She could sleep through Armageddon," said Tai. Matt nodded. He wasn't aware that Tai was slightly aroused by the fact that their crotches were pressing against each other until now. He got off of Tai.
"Whoa. Sorry about that..." he said. Tai shrugged. He sat up.

"I wouldn't even dream of touching you unless you okay'd it. I promise..." said Matt. Tai nodded. Then he opened his little notebook again...
"Well...nahh."
"No, no, what. I'm kinda...horny now. Hee hee," said Matt, sitting down next to him. Tai glanced down. He sure was!
"Well...read this really quick." Matt read.
Oh god... "You sure?" he asked.
Tai nodded. "I mean, we can switch roles though," said Tai. Matt shook his head.

"Okay..." Tai said softly. He started breathing hard again as Matt gently tugged the goggles off of Tai's head. He put them on the bedside table, and then unbuttoned the three buttons on his shirt. Then Matt pulled the shirt off (quite hard to get off over Tai's mass of brown hair.) Next were the socks, easily came off. Matt tossed them on the floor next to Tai's shirt. "So...did you like your first hand job?" asked Matt, continuing to stroke his hair. Tai nodded.
"It felt even better than I thought it would..." he murmured.
"I liked watching your face. I could tell you felt good, cuz of your facial expressions," said Matt. He lay out, on top of Tai (but not completely) and rested his head on Tai's chest.
"I didn't do anything..." said Tai.
"You will. Later. One thing at a time," mumbled Matt. Then he kissed Tai's chest again, and lay down beside him. He propped up his head on his elbow, and traced the contour of Tai's face with his hand, while Tai turned over to face him.
"Do you know what Tai?" Matt asked.
"No, what?"
"You're beautiful."
"Please..."
"No you are. I know guys are supposed to be handsome or cute, but you are absolutely beautiful."
"No, I'm not. And I'm not fishing for compliments, but I'm not," Tai said, as Matt held his wrist and kissed his hand.
"Yes you are. To me anyways."
"You, the most popular guy in school, thinks I'M beautiful? What about you...you're brutally hot!"
Matt laughed. "What makes you say that?"
"I dunno...just the fact that every girl in school wants to go out with you? The fact that you were runner up in the best looking guy in school contest..."
"What? When was that?"
"You don't read the school paper? It was the last issue before school let out!"
"No..." Matt said.
"If you don't believe me, ask Izzy the next time you see him."
"I'll call him now!" Matt said, getting up. He walked over to Tai's desk, and dialed Izzy's number. It was 12:01 at night (or the morning) but Izzy was bound to be up on his computer.
"Hey Tai. Kinda late to call, don't ya think?" asked Izzy as he picked up the phone. Tai looked at Matt. He was facing away, but his backside was to him. He had MUSCLES in his legs and his back was smooth and perfect, and his ass... *drool* Oh. God. He IS a hottie. Those girls are right... thought Tai.
"It's not Tai," said Matt into the phone,
"It's Matt. I'm at Tai's house. I have a question for ya, Iz."
"Speak it to me," said Izzy.
"Was I really runner up in some contest thingie?"
"The best looking guy in school? Yep. You lost because the other guy was a senior."
"Thanks. Tai was trying to tell me, but I wasn't sure to believe him or not. Bye Izzy!"
"Huh... bye!" Matt hung up the phone, then went back over to Tai and lay down next to him again.
"Well, you were right. How about that. I'm still lucky though," Matt said, stroking Tai's hair again.
"Why?"
"Because I have the most beautiful boy in the world as my boyfriend."
"Don't say that Matt."
"Why not? And you're sweet, and funny, and adorable when you blush, and you've got hair I can run my hand through..." Matt said, kissing Tai on the nose. Tai blushed.
"See. Adorable!" Matt said, hugging Tai closer with one arm.
"Oh...I don't deserve you Matt."
"Why not?"
"Because...you said all those nice things to me. And plus, you're one of the popular kids, and I'm a freak with poofy hair..."
"That's stupid," said Matt, referring to the social system, not Tai's comment, "Why shouldn't freaks go with populars? If you're a freak, then I'll be one too."
Tai laughed. "If you say so... so, why do you think I'm beautiful, and not hot? You're hot to me..."
"Why? Because you've got beautiful hair..."
"Brown... yay."
"Chestnut. Not brown. Anyway. And amazing eyes. Dark amber colored. And your face. You're beyond hot or cute. You're beautiful. Like a seraph or something" Tai blushed even more and smiled.
"Awww. Well, you, you're exotic looking. That's why you're hot. You're eyes are an amazing ocean blue, and they have a cool exotic shape to them... and you're hair is spikey... and golden, and sparkles in the sun. It's pretty hair. And your face, wow, perfect jaw line and cheekbones...and your body, oh my god, I could drool about that for days..." Tai said.
Matt started stroking his hair again. "Wow... I feel bad, I didn't say anything about your body... it's..." Matt didn't get a chance to really see Tai though.
"I know, I'm thin. I'm not built..."
"I haven't seen you. Stand up for a second." So Tai stood up. He was slender, but he had muscle. Matt gaped at the slender beauty in front of him. Tai really WAS beautiful... so delicate, so perfect...
"You've got a beautiful body too..." said Matt.
Tai shook his head and lay down and let Matt stroke his hair again.
"I'm not built," Tai said.
"You are, you're just slender. There's a difference ya know. You're not a total jock, that's true, but you're not thin like... Peter," said Matt, referring to someone in their past Chemistry class.
"Hee hee. I guess not," Tai said, and yawned. Matt pulled the blankets over them.
"You tired?"
"Yeah, a little..." Tai said. Matt reached over and turned off the light. Then he faced Tai in the dark. His eyes adjusted to the dim light, as he stared at Tai. Tai stared back.
"Tai, do you believe in love at first site?"
"Yeah..."
"Then I wanna say that I love you Taichi Kamiya." Tai was speechless.
"I've always been in love with you Yamato Ishida.. since the Digiworld."
"Wow..."
"Matt?"
"Hmm?"
"Your old girlfriends? Did you love them too?" Tai asked.
"No, I didn't love any of them..."
"Oh..."
"Yeah. My beautiful boyfriend... You're the only one I love..." Matt whispered. He put his arm over Tai. Tai smiled as he snuggled a little closer to Matt. They fell asleep.
