Being the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite was no stranger to love herself. She has been linked to at least 7 lovers, mortal and immortal. Although Aphrodite was married to the lame god Hephestaus, she was not deterred from having numerous affairs.
Aphrodite had a relationship with the mortal Anchises by intervention of Zeus. These two had Aeneas and Lyrus.
Aphrodite's most famed affair is that with the god of war, Ares. Together these two had Harmonia, sometimes referred to as Hermione, Deimos, and Phobus.
Another lover was Hermes, who's many jobs included leading the dead's souls to Hades and being the messenger of Zeus. These two produced Hermaphroditus.
Another mortal whom Aphrodite had an affair with was Phaethon, a beautiful boy whom she ravished. Astynous was the result of their affair.
Aphrodite also had a love affair with Dionysus, the frenzied god of wine and the youngest of the 12 Olympians. Together, they created Priapus. Some sources also believe that they also had Hymen, the god of marriage.
Butes was a mortal who sailed with Jason and the Argonauts. Sirens got to him, but Aphrodite intervened and helped him settle in Lilybaeum, which is in West Sicily. Together, these two produced Eryx.
Another one of Aphrodite's famed love affairs, was that with Adonis. Beroe 5, or sometimes also called Amymone, was their child.
