FADE IN:
EXT. WAINWRIGHT ALBERTA CANADA - DAY
Northern Canada. Typical winter day.
Cold, snowing and blowing. Whiteness blankets the earth. A long silence
fills the area, occasionally broken by the wind rustling through the
bare branches of trees.
The streets of Wainwright
are still. No traffic. Sounds of CHILDREN PLAYING break the stillness.
Suddenly a KID runs across the street, playfully ducking a snowball.
ISAAC,
late twenties, haggard and dejected, steps into the street. His eyes
slowly surveying the area. Searching for something that is not there.
Heading over to a
parked car, Isaac walks into the street. KIM,
twenties, attractive in a demeanor way straggles along behind him.
The Kid bolts into the street, running
in front of Isaac.
A misdirected snowball, missing the
child, slams into his chest.
Isaac stops. Wide eyed the Kid stares up at him.
KIDS
Sorry Sir.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
Quiet, sadness in his eyes, looking down on the child.
Without responding, or cleaning the snow off him, he
steps around the Kid.
Stunned and a little scared, the Kid
watches as the two of them walk to the car. His little friend joining
him.
Kim glances back at the Children. Her
eyes set back in her head. Sullen.
INT. VEHICLE - DAY
Heading North. The sparse vegetation
gives away to a major complex of two storied buildings. Twin pillars
stand erect over the barren expanse.
A sign comes into view, "NUCLEAR
RESEARCH CENTER"
INT. NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER - DAY
Isaac steps into the main foyer of the
Nuclear Research Center. A line of peoples are waiting as they pass
through a security check point.
As Kim heads over to a waiting area, Isaac joins the
line.
While fishing out his identification
card, he surveys the area. Checking out every inch of the main foyer.
Puzzlement on his face.
The line moves forward as the SECURITY
GUARD swipes the identification cards. Glancing down at a computer
screen for verification, then allowing admittance.
Isaac stares over at Kim.
Nervously, she smiles at him, fidgeting in her seat.
Stepping up to the Security Guard,
Isaac hands him his identification card.
Checking the card over, the Security
Guard carefully scrutinizes it. Keeping his eyes on Isaac, he swipes the
card. A dull beep comes from the computer. The Security Guard glances
down.
SECURITY GUARD’S P.O.V.
Computer screen reads "ENTRY
NOT PERMITTED"
The Security Guard trains his eyes on Isaac.
SECURITY GUARD
Tell me who you are?
Reposed, Isaac nervously fidgets.
ISAAC
Dr. Isaac. Nuclear Chemical lab.
The Security Guard holds up the card, slowly twirling
it.
SECURITY GUARD
What about this card? I haven’t
seen this color before.
Isaac glances around. The people around him are
watching.
ISAAC
That’s my card. Try my number. Five
four six seven. Put that in your
computer.
The Security Guard pauses, then only long enough to
type the number in, he keeps his eyes on Isaac.
INSERT COMPUTER
A window is opened in the computer
revealing "INVALID ENTRY ****

Tension mounting.
SECURITY GUARD
Doctor Isaac......
Pointing down at the computer screen.
SECURITY GUARD
Says here you retired thirty years
ago.
A large contingent of people are gathering around.
ISAAC
You call our Director, Dr. Lovious.
He knows me. He can verify my
identification.
The crowd LAUGHS. Isaac looks around at them.
The Security Guard reaches for a button.
SECURITY GUARD
You wait right there.
Isaac starts to panic.
ISAAC
No hold on.
Immediately three LARGE SECURITY
GUARDS emerge from a side room. They march right over to the desk.
Spotting them, Isaac turns fast,
running into the crowd of people.
The Security Guard jumps from behind his desk.
SECURITY GUARD
You hold up.
Pushing his way through the crowd,
Isaac glances back.
The Security Guards are closing in on
him.
Breaking through the crowd, Isaac
rushes to the door. It is now locked.
Turning, he presses his back against
the door. Trapped, with the Security Officers a measured distance
closer.
Picking up her chair, Kim heaves it at the window.
Thousands of shards of glass fly in
all directions as the chair passes through it.
Kim holds out her hand.
KIM
Isaac. This way.
Joining her, they both bolt out the broken window.
Seconds later, the Security Guards, weapons drawn, follow.
CUT TO:
EXT. NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER - DAY
Scrambling to get in their vehicle,
Isaac and Kim are in a rush to leave the place behind.
Gunning the vehicle, Isaac backs it
out of the parking spot. The Security Guards dive to get out of the way,
but one is too slow. Bouncing up on the trunk, before being knocked to
the ground.
INT. VEHICLE - DAY
Dropping it in gear, Isaac punches the
accelerator. Trying to maintain control as the vehicle speeds away.
Frightened, Kim looks out through the rear window.
EXT. NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER - DAY
While one of the Security guards
comforts his downed counterpart, the other two fire away at the vehicle.
Fishtailing out onto the highway, the vehicle speeds
up the road.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. ROAD - NIGHT
Headlights break the
bend in the road, illuminating a big old country house. A faded sign
swings in the night wind. "DR.
LANCE KRISTEN, PSYCHIATRIST" The vehicle
pulls up to the curb. Then darkness.
Isaac steps out from the vehicle. In
silence he watches the house. His eyes studying every window. Kim joins
him. Their eyes meet.
Kim looks at him questionably.
Isaac feigns a smile, then heads to the door.
INT. HOUSE - NIGHT
Enjoying a cup of tea, DOCTOR KRISTEN, late forties,
well dressed even for that time of night, leading to an air of
arrogance, is reading over the newspaper.
A KNOCK on the door draws his attention.
KRISTEN
I’m coming.
As he opens the door, Isaac and Kim
stare in at him. Dr. Kristen looks past them, then checks them over.
KRISTEN
Can I help you?
ISAAC
Are you Dr. Kristen?
KRISTEN
Yes. (beat) And you are?
ISAAC
Dr. Isaac. Can I please talk to
you?
Dr. Kristen briefly checks him over, then opens the
outside door.
KRISTEN
These are not my normal hours, but
please come in out of the cold.
Allowing them to enter, Dr. Kristen
can’t keep his eyes off Kim. Coyly she smiles at him, realizing that
she is being checked out.
Dr. Kristen moves to his office.
KRISTEN
Come with me.
INT. OFFICE - NIGHT
Sitting in his chair, Dr. Kristen offers them chairs
set out in front of his.
KRISTEN
Please, have a seat.
He watches as Kim climbs into the oversized chair.
A momentary silence falls amongst them as they all
exchange glances.
Dr. Kristen breaks the silence.
KRISTEN
You said you needed to talk to
me.
Sitting forward on his chair, Isaac looks over at Kim,
then to Dr. Kristen.
ISAAC
I’m Dr. Isaac from the Nuclear
Research Center of Canada. (beat)
Well I have a problem. A serious
problem. I was wondering if you
could help.
Dr. Kristen nods, his full attention placed upon him.
Isaac glances around the room.
Hand gestures comply with his thoughts.
ISAAC
I don’t know. Everything has
changed so rapidly in the last two
days. I don’t know how to explain
it.
Politely, Dr. Kristen interrupts him.
KRISTEN
The world changes on a regular basis.
It improves with every passing minute.
In what way would this affect you?
ISAAC
I agree with you there, but how could
the world have changed but not me. I
haven’t changed.
Puzzled, Dr. Kristen sits up, he looks over at Kim.
Blankly she stares back at him.
Dr. Kristen switches his eyes to Isaac.
KRISTEN
I’m not following you.
Sitting on the edge of his seat, Isaac directs his
words to Dr. Kristen.
ISAAC
It seems everything has changed
around me dramatically, but has
left me alone. My mother has died
years ago, and I never knew about
it. My friends are fifty years older
than the last time I have seen them.
Some have died of old age. This
world....
In great exaggeration he waves.
ISAAC
This world has changed so much, but
not me. And all of this in only a
couple of days.
Dumbfounded, Dr. Kristen removes his glasses.
KRISTEN
Excuse me?
Knowing he has his full attention,
Isaac settles back in his seat. Kim reaches for his hand.
ISAAC
Let me start from the beginning. I
was enjoying a peaceful live
until I visited NASA for a conference.

INT. NCSA CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY
WELL-DRESSED MEN are seated around a
large conference table. More line the walls. Their endless chatter mixed
together in a chorus of excited voices. There is no direction. No unity.
Everyone talking amongst themselves, going though the piles of paperwork
on the table in front of them.
Slipping in the door, STEVE
WRIGHT, Chief of NCSA waits. As he is noticed,
the chatter starts to tone down.
He waits until it is silent, then closes the door.
WRIGHT
Gentlemen. I have gathered you all
here to discuss a serious matter. A
very serious matter.
He walks around the room, keeping eye contact with the
people gathered there.
WRIGHT
Two days ago, a schoolgirl from
Argentina somehow received an e-mail
which carried only partial information
on a potential threat to the security
of earth.
Moving to the head of the conference table, all eyes
follow him.
WRIGHT
There is a possibility that this message
could have come from Mars. (beat) Dr.
Parker.
Dr. Parker steps from crowd gathered along the wall.
PARKER
We are still trying to trace the
origin of this message. Nothing to
report so far.
The Chief nods to him.
WRIGHT
Keep me abreast.
To the remainder.
WRIGHT
There is a possibility that the
mail could have come from Mars.
Reports have it that spies from
Mars are already here on Earth.
Some how slipped through all our
security defenses. That message
could have been directed to them.
It is believed that they want to
start terrorist activities on Earth
in order to cause dissension. A
vital step in their plan to control
our planet.
He pauses, pinching the bridge of his nose.
WRIGHT
Under much deliberation and squabbling
amongst the upper ranks, we have
decided to send a scientist to Mars.
There, this person will search for and
observe any subversive activities aimed
directly at Earth. We are not interested
in their own political agenda. (beat) A
nuclear warhead will be sent with this
person.
Chatter fills the room. Dr. Wright puts his hands up
to silence them.
WRIGHT
A nuclear weapon will be sent with that
person. If and when such activities are
reported, the nuclear warhead will be
planted in the area. On return from Mars
it will be detonated.
More chatter fills the room.
WRIGHT
Gentlemen this is the only way we can
protect ourselves from this group of
people. We have no choice.
A hushed silence falls over the gathering.
WRIGHT
This is where you gentlemen come into
plan. We need to get that weapon ready,
and we need to get it ready fast.
(beat)
And in interest in keeping this quiet,
we have chosen a scientist from a remote
location to execute this plan. Secrecy
is our key to success. We have chosen Dr.
Isaac from Canada.
CLOSE ON THE MIDDLE ROW
Isaac, who is standing along the wall, moves towards
Dr. White. The gathering hoots and hollers, banging on the tables to
approve the decision. The sound echoing through the building.

EXT. SOUTH AFRICA - NIGHT
Deep in the jungle as the sun is about to break for

Noise of small crickets CHIRPING. Monkeys jump from one branch to other

playfully hits its trunk on the leg of her mother. Peaceful.
Tranquilizing settings.
Suddenly, lights fill the sky. Bright and fiery as an
object enters the atmosphere. Plumes of smoke trailing behind the ball
of fire.
Coming in low, an oval shaped spaceship screeches
across the treetops. The rear side of it hits a tree. A small portion of
it breaks off, crashing into the jungle. The sound resonates through the
air, buzzing off to stillness.
Continuing to shatter the morning peace, the spaceship
drives itself through the jungle. Clearing a path through the dense
vegetation.
Monkeys start to scream as the elephant group runs
away. A jungle deer looks at it fearfully. In a panic birds flutter from
the trees.
EXT. FOREST TOP VIEW - NIGHT

direct result of entry into the atmosphere. Some of the trees are
ignited and burning freely. Dust and smoke starts to envelope the
spacecraft.

EXT. NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER - DAY
Isaac opens the car door. Stepping out of it, he
reaches back inside retrieving a file folder.
Removing his sunglasses, he looks around.
CUT TO:
EXT. BUILDING - DAY
The buildings are under construction. Water batches
are seen in the newly cemented walls. As Isaac nears the building the
top portions of two tall iron grills of the pillars are at the backside
of the building.
As he approaches the construction area, a SECURITY
GUARD steps out from a makeshift bunker.
Isaac tries to pull out his identification card from
his shirt pocket.
CLOSE ON THE SECURITY GUARD
The security guard smiles at him, opening the gate.
SECURITY GUARD
Good morning Sir. Please come in.
ISAAC
Good morning. Where is Dr. Lovious?
SECURITY GUARD
He is at the pillar construction site.
Slowly, Isaac starts walking towards the construction
site.
EXT. BUILDING - DAY
The area is buzzing with activity as a few of the
medium sized two storied buildings are still under construction. A lot
of people are involved in the construction of the supporting pillars.
Some of the workers are digging the earth. A big caterpillar machine is
making a lot of noise off to the side. A few workers are involved in the
grillwork for the tall pillars. Some are planting saplings around the
sites already finished.
A man, DR. LOVIOUS, mid fifties is standing next to a
pillar under construction. Scrutinizing, he often rubs the French cut
beard on his face. Turning he waves at Isaac.
DR. LOVIOUS
Doctor Isaac.
About to open the glass door to the ground floor,
Isaac stops.
Dr. Lovious approaches Isaac.
DR. LOVIOUS
Dr. Isaac, Welcome back.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
as he approaches Dr. Lovious. A smile on his face.
ISAAC
Good Morning Dr. Lovious. You’re

The men shake hands. Lovious puts his arm around Isaac
joining him as they head into the building.
LOVIOUS
Well, I wanted to be involved with
every aspect of this complex. Including
the construction. The Nuclear Research
Center is my baby. It is my life. Come
with me, I need to talk to you about a
message I received.
INT. LOVIOUS’ OFFICE - DAY
A plush office. Golden lettering on the desk reading
"Dr. Lovious, Director" is on the table. A nice looking flower
vase, filled with fresh cut seasonal flowers adorns the desk. Off to the
side is the latest computer system. Lovious sets himself down in a big
chair, indicating for Isaac to sit across from him.
LOVIOUS
So tell me how was your trip to
NASA?
Isaac settles back in the chair.
ISAAC
Excellent, and best of all your dream
for this center has finally come true.
We have the responsibility of saving
earth from enemies from other planets.
CLOSE ON LOVIOUS
excited, eyes widening.
LOVIOUS

Isaac smiles at his boss.
ISAAC
We have received threats from Mars and
I have the honor of going there in a
weeks time. I will access the threat
and report all information back to
earth. With me I’ll be taking a nuclear
weapon. It’s my responsibility to
destroy their plan and resources if I
perceive any viable threats exists
there. Here take a look at these
pictures taken recently by one of
our satellite.
From the file folder, Isaac shows three pictures to
Lovious.
CLOSE ON THE TABLE
one picture shows four slim figures, wearing white

LOVIOUS
What are these?
ON TO THE PICTURE
Lovious’ fingers point to the third picture. It’s
of a gigantic dome resting on the ground.
Isaac shrugs his shoulders.
ISAAC
Nobody knows? The NASA conference
predicted that their plan is already
in action. That they have infiltrated
spies here on Earth. (beat) Now that
earth is entering a difficult phase.
Intense, Lovious closes both of his hands, resting
them over his chin. Beating his eyebrows at Isaac.
Picking up on the emotions, Isaac subdues his tone.
ISAAC
I know that it involves a huge amount
of risk. Like a cloth fallen on the
thorn. We have to be careful the way
we pull.
Dr. Lovious cups his face.
LOVIOUS
My God. So that is why I got that
message relinquishing you from my

Looking from behind his fingers.
LOVIOUS
So my friend. (beat) They have chosen

Being polite the MARKETER smiles.

Lynda collects her bags.
LYNDA

EXT. HIGHWAY - DAY
As the vehicle comes over the crest, a young female,
Kim, is roller blading on the side of the road. The vehicle passes her

INT. CAR - DAY
Slowing, Lynda puts on her indicator. A house set back

Lynda notices, too late, that the red flag on her
mailbox is in the upright position. She slams on her brakes.
LYNDA
The mail.
Struggling to get the vehicle into reverse, she looks
down at the shift. After a few seconds, the aged beast slides into
position. The vehicle jumps backwards.
Suddenly, something hits the rear of the vehicle.
Stepping on the brakes, Lynda sits up, in anguish looking in the rear
view mirror.
LYNDA
What the hell was that?
THROUGH THE MIRROR
Nothing can be seen.
Scrambling to get her seat belt off, Lynda tries to
get out of the vehicle.
EXT. HIGHWAY - DAY
In pain, and semi-conscious, Kim is sprawled out on

highway. Weird moans coming from her.
Finally getting out of the car, Lynda spots the young
girl. Shaking all over she rushes towards her.
LYNDA
(hysterical)
Ow my God. What have I done?
INT. CAR - DAY
Lynda is behind the wheel, often glancing back
nervously at the back seat. A plush country house in the foreground.
Kim is curled up on the rear seat, moaning in pain.
One of her legs still has the skate on. A white cloth is tied over her
forehead. Drops of blood trickle down her face, over her chin, down to

Instinctively Lynda picks up the jacket, hanging it on

LYNDA
When did you return from Maryland?
Closing the door, Isaac heads over to his Mother,
giving her a kiss.
ISAAC
This morning Mom. Sorry, I didn’t
have time to call you. Today was
crazy it was so busy.
Isaac turns to the table.
ISAAC
But I didn’t forget you.
He pulls out a hand made woolen sweater from the
package on the table. Holding it up, he covers her with it.
ISAAC
Looking good mom.
Not responding, Lynda moves towards the room where the
girl is sleeping in. She turns back to Isaac, sadness deep in her face.
The smile drops from Isaac’s face.
ISAAC
Mom? What is it?
Lynda glances back at the room.
LYNDA
I had an accident on my return from
the market today.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
Worried he stares at his mother.
ISAAC

But what Mom?
Without answering, she grabs Isaac by the hand,
leading him to the back room.
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Kim, feeling the bandage across her forehead, is
sitting up on the bed. She stares diligently up as the bedroom door
opens.
Seeing that she is awake, Lynda rushes into the room.
LYNDA

Sitting down on the bed, she strokes Kim’s head.
LYNDA
You are going to be all right young
lady.
Isaac moves into the room, standing near the bed.
ISAAC
Hi, Are you feeling okay?
Kim looks up. Shyness creeping over her face. A tinge
of blush reddens her cheeks.
KIM

As Isaac sits down on the bed, he smiles at her.
ISAAC

Lynda fusses.
LYNDA
You must be hungry. I’ll go make
you something to eat.
They both watch as Lynda scampers out of the room.
ISAAC
She’ll be happy now. She has one
more mouth to feed.

serenity of the area.
Suddenly lightning explodes across the sky,
illuminating the field. Thunder rolls across it, echoing off into the
distance, carried by the openness. A dull ROAR follows the thunder,
building in volume.
In a flash, from the center of the dark sky, a huge
Glass Dome descends from the skies. The roar vibrates the surroundings
with all of its force. Quickly the Glass Dome lands on the field, the
weight of it shaking the ground. Then stillness as it suddenly vanishes,
blending into the surroundings.
Stark silence fills the area. The inky jet blackness
once again smothering the countryside. From around a rock a Wild Boar
snorts. Stepping out, it sniffs the air. Large drops of rainfall begin
to fall.
From the sanctity of its night resting spot, a large
bird flutters into the air. It flies up the crest of the large doom.
The bird attempts to sit on the top of the glass doom.
It struggles to grasp onto the glass surface, only to be repelled.
Attempting it again, this time it hits its wing on the wall before
flying away. A feather comes out of its wing.
CLOSE ON THE FEATHER
As it hasn’t fallen to the ground. It remains

The Wild Boar bolts from the protection of the rock,
disappearing from view as the gentle down pour turns into a torrential

Through the steady downpour, a gentle hum comes from
the dome, as it seems to become alive. Faintly at first, then building
in volume, a red color LED flashes "OXYGEN ZONE" in pulses.
INT. GLASS DOOM - NIGHT
The rain outside gathers in sheets, cascading down the
exterior glass wall. Inside there are a lot of light fittings. A gentle
humming sound emanates from the air conditioning. A digital type clock

crammed with sophisticated equipment bunched around a series of scanning
missiles, which are slowly revolving.
CLOSE ON A MISSILE
On its control-panel a green lettered LED beats letter
by letter; "TARGET - NEW YORK"
Two EXTRATERRESTRIAL, fully covered with long white
attire are seated on tall chairs. While one is tapping commands on a

the wall.
ON TO MONITOR
in bold stark letters it starts blinking;
"WARNING .. LOCKING ON DESTINATION."
An Extraterrestrial moves beside the monitor, checking
a row of equipment beside it. On the monitor a timer counts numbers.
"TEN NINE .. TWO ONE TARGET." Again the screen blinks.
"DESTINATION ATTAINED"
Under automation one of the missiles leaves it holding
spot. Moving out to the center of the glass dome. Lights flash all over
the monitoring equipment.
EXT. OUTER ATMOSPHERE - NIGHT.
Peaceful, blue and tranquil, Planet Earth moves along
in its timeless circle. Stars glitter in the background.
We sweep away from Planet Earth to a tapestry of
stars. From the distance a satellite moves into view. Revolving around
the planet in a constant speed. Moments later a small object hits it on
its rear side. Jerking slightly the satellite quickly maintains its
orbit. Red lights on the top of the antennas start glowing.

INT. ISAAC’S HOUSE - DAY
Getting ready to go to the office, Isaac is in a
hurry. After checking the knot on his tie, he moves to the dining table.
Picking up his toast he takes the newspaper that is lying on the table.
He adjusts the folding on the paper to read the heading.
Isaac’s eyes spread wide open.
Dropping his toast, he lifts the newspaper. The
headline reads: "TOKYO AND MEXICO DESTROYED. CITIES ISOLATED FROM
THE REST OF THE WORLD AS AN UNKNOWN VIRUS SPREADS THROUGH COMMUNICATION
MEDIA."
Isaac drops the newspaper.
ISAAC
It has started.
Isaac’s mother comes out of the kitchen. Kim is
following her. She smiles at Isaac, angelic like. A small cross bandage
over her forehead.
LYNDA
You better hurry son, you’ll be
late.
Noticing her son is lost in thought.
LYNDA
What’s wrong?
ISAAC
Nothing….! Nothing to worry about.
There is a KNOCK on the back door, Lynda goes to
answer it.
LYNDA
I’ll be right back.
Kim sits in a chair in front of Isaac. Seeing that
something is bothering him she holds his hand. A wide attractive smile
on her face.
Lynda returns, worry stamped in her face. Dr. Lovious
right behind her.
ISAAC
I was just coming to see you.
LOVIOUS
Isaac they started. Yesterday two
cities were destroyed. New York is
in chaos. (beat) For security reasons
I have posted two Officers outside.
They will remain there.
From his briefcase he pulls out an envelope. Taking
out a few papers, he spreads them out on the table.
Isaac and Kim moves forward to have a close look at
it.
LOVIOUS
Today all the major newspaper bureaus
received this letter. It is from Mars.
ISAAC
From Mars?
LOVIOUS
Yes. It is signed by a Lsixty. It states
that Tokyo and Mexico will be in the
dark for another 100 years. Yesterday,
they attacked one of remote sensing
satellites. From there, a virus spread
through all the communication media.
Internet, telecom, power supply cables.
So there is no electricity, no telephone,
no flights. We fear that New York will
be in dark for another a week or so.
Isaac’s eyes shift from the paper to Dr. Lovious.
ISAAC
Jesus..
Kim squeezes down on Isaac’s hand. He looks down at
her.
LOVIOUS
Isaac, it is time to get you ready
to go.
Isaac glances from Kim to Dr. Lovious, then nods yes.
Dr. Lovious collects the file and heads towards the
door.
LOVIOUS
We run the test today, ahead of
schedule.
ISAAC
I’ll meet you at the lab.
As Dr. Lovious leaves, Kim moves towards Isaac. She
reaches out, holding his hand.
ISAAC
I have to go.
CLOSE ON KIM
as she grips her forehead, pressing her fingers over
the bandage.
KIM
My head is throbbing. I think I’m
going back to bed.
Isaac touches her forehead gently.
ISAAC
Still a lot of pain?
She nods her head, holding his hand.
Isaac stares deep into her eyes, her face drawing
close.
ISAAC
Well you take care. I’ll see you
this evening.
She closes her eyes as Isaac traces his fingers down
her face.
CHILD’S VOICE (O.S)
Excuse me.
As they hear the voice, the both of them glance over
at the door.
MINNA, a six year old blonde girl, is standing in the
entrance, holding up a fresh rose.
Isaac smiles at her.

Minna bolts into the house, giving Isaac the rose.

EXT. ARCTIC - DAY
MOVING SHOT
Of ice and more ice as we are deep in the Arctic
Circle moving quickly above the ground. The entire surrounding is
nothing but ice dusted with snow. There are up and downs in the ice
field. Mountains formed as the massive ice flows collided with each
other.
Sweeping up a steep rugged ice mountain, there is a
deep valley on the other side.
Seals snort into the air. Quickly they amber back to
their holes, seeking refugee into the safety of the ocean underneath.
The valley is slowly starting to fill up with water,
much to the pleasure of the few Snow Geese stopping over on their
journey.
CUT TO:

EXT. NASA - DAY
A NEWS REPORTER live,
REPORTER
We have footage of the Shuttle,
carrying Dr. Isaac, after it was
launched. It appears that an unknown
space craft, unconfirmed rumors
that it is most likely from Mars,
has somehow intercepted the Shuttle.
NASA Officials have yet to comment.
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. SPACESHIP - NIGHT
Flat on his back on a table, Isaac is still
unconscious. His flight pressure suit removed from his body, tossed on
the floor underneath the table. His body bruised and battered.
His chest rises slightly. Quickly he inhales as he
wakes up. Startled, Isaac sits up. Feeling over his body as he examines
himself.
ISAAC
I’m alive.
Reaching inside of his pants pocket, he pulls out a
small sensor. Examining it, he verifies that it is not activated.
ISAAC
Ow thank God.
Stuffing it back into his pocket, he glances around at
the inside of the craft, his eyes eventually focusing outside, through
the glass window.
THROUGH WINDOW
Stars flicker as they speed by in a wash of perpetual
darkness that abounds space.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
At a tremendous speed, the spaceship is traveling
through space. Crunching the particles of stone strewn through the
atmosphere. The trace of its path, full of fire, trailing out like a
comet behind it.
INT. SPACE SHIP - NIGHT
Balancing himself as not to fall, he swings his legs
to get off the table. He looks up as he hears a voice.
INSERT A MONITOR
A figure fully covered with a long white gown appears.
It speaks out in a voice of authority.
FIGURE
Welcome Isaac. In a little while you
will be at my home world. Mars.
A smile spreads across his face.
FIGURE
So tell me. What do you think of us?
Our technology is far better than
you expected, isn’t it? Better than
anything you will find on earth.
And I want to thank you for your
little present. We will study and
copy it, then test your weapon on
your earth.
The figure disappears from the screen.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
expressing a mixed lot of emotions. Fear, panic,
sorrow.
Growing tense, he studies the room. He slowly walks
towards a door.
INT. CABIN - NIGHT
Isaac enters the cabin, silently closing the door
behind him.
A fully masked figure operates a control panel in
front of it. Glancing up at the row of monitors.
Searching for a weapon, Isaac pulls out a small pipe
from the wall.
Slowly Isaac approaches the figure.
CLOSE ON THE FIGURE
as it suddenly turns to face Isaac.
FIGURE
Stop.
The figure removes its mask. It’s none other than
Kim.
KIM
Isaac. It is me.
Baffled, he drops he rod, staring at Kim.
ISAAC
What the hell are you doing here?
Smiling, angelic, and loving.
KIM
Relax Isaac. You are injured.
Please sit-down.
Standing from her chair, Kim presses against Isaac
shoulders to sit him in the chair. Dazed Isaac continues to stare at
her.
KIM
I’m sorry, but I have no other
choice. I.. Well.. No one should
ever have to face a situation like
mine.
Struggling to speak further, tears come out from her
eyes.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
intense as rage grows inside of him.
ISAAC
Liar.
Springing out of the chair, he grabs Kim by the neck.
ISAAC
Don’t over act you bitch. You know
exactly what you are doing.
Suddenly three sensors mounted guns come out from the
walls, aiming at Isaac.
Kim holds up her hands.
KIM
Computer stand down.
Staring down the barrels, Isaac releases his hold on
Kim.
KIM
Please listen to me Isaac. Let me
say what I have to say about myself,
then you can decide what to do
further.
Exasperated, Isaac sits slowly on the chair. Kim sits
down besides him.
KIM
Let me explain,
Gently she strokes his hair. Angrily he pushes her
hand away.
Trembling Kim moves closer to Isaac. Tears in her
eyes. In a feeble voice, Kim speaks.
KIM
I accept that I have done a mistake.
(beat) But the only mistake I made
was deceiving you. Isaac. Please
forgive me for that, but I didn’t
know if I would have told you the
truth if you would have believed me.
Looking for Isaac’s eyes, which she does not see,
Kim turns into herself.
KIM
It’s not my fault that I was born the
daughter of the Leader of Mars’s.
See, it’s not all my mistake. It’s
something like a spy doing his duty
for their motherland.
Turning back to Isaac, holding onto his arm.
KIM
But now, I have done a favor to both
Earth and Mars. Had I not hijacked
your shuttle you would have destroyed
Mars. If I bring you to Mars, Earth
will be destroyed.
Without answering her, Isaac stands up, limping
towards the window. Placing his two hands on the glass, he stares
outside.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CARGO BAY - NIGHT
A Sweeping shot of the Shuttle, moving towards a
series of red blinking lights.
CLOSE ON THE SHUTTLE
As the extent of the damage comes into view. Major
portion of the hull has been ripped apart, exposing the inner core of it
all along the line of it.
ZOOM TO THE CONTROL PANEL ON THE CYLINDER
As the silent red alarm to blink in the LCD meter
reads,
THE AUTOMATIC COUNTDOWN STARTED: 30 MINUTES TO GO.
INT. SPACE SHIP - CABIN - NIGHT
Kim rests her face on Isaac’s back. Isaac shifts his
eyes from the window to Kim.
KIM
I love you Isaac. Tell me what I have
to do for you to trust in me?
Gently Isaac cups Kim face. Looking deep into her
eyes. Searching for the truth.
ISAAC
There is only one thing you can do.
One thing to prove to me your feelings.
Kim moves her face closer to his.
KIM
What?
ISAAC
You make sure from your father that
there will be no more threats to Earth.
INT. SPACESHIP - CARGO BAY - NIGHT
CLOSE ON THE TIMER
The timer now reads TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES, counting
backwards.
INT. SPACE SHIP - CABIN - NIGHT
Leaving Isaac, Kim moves over to the central control
panel. Lifting the cover to a transmitter, she keys in a series of
numbers.
INSERT MONITOR
As Kim’s Father, dressed in full white attire
appears on the screen.
FATHER
My daughter. "The Princess of Mars". I
am so proud of you. Proud of what you
have done for our planet.
CLOSE ON KIM
As she swallows hard. Trying to figure out how to
break the news to her father. A tear forming in her eye.
KIM
Father. (beat) Dad (beat) Dad how much
do you love me?
CLOSE ON THE MONITOR
As he sits up. Realizing that something is wrong with
his daughter.
FATHER
What made you to ask this question my
daughter? (beat) You know how much I
love you. Ever since your Mother
passed away.
Fighting the flood of emotions he regains his
composure.
FATHER
You mean everything to me. And that is
why I choose you for this mission. Our
life, our future, our planet Mars is up
for stakes. I could only trust a mission
of this great importance to you. I rely
and trust on you, because of my love for
you.
Kim drops her eyes, no longer able to look into his.
KIM
Father, if you love and trust me so much
then you have to do something for me.
FATHER (O.S.)
Anything my child.
Gathering strength, Kim looks up.
KIM
Please don’t do any more harm to earth.
Enraged, he scowls and thrusts his face at the screen.
FATHER
What? What are you talking about?
Standing proud, Kim does not back down.
KIM
Dad, no more attacks. We have to stop
everything.
Settling back in his chair, he smiles.
FATHER
I believe that you are tired my dear.
The mission must have been a great strain
on you. Come home, relax, you will see
that we must do what can to protect our
clan.
Kim returns her father’s wry smile.
KIM
Father. I think (beat) no, I am going
to miss you. I’m going back to earth.
I am going back to earth and live with
Isaac.
VIEW FROM KIM’S BACKSIDE FOCUSING IN ON THE MONITOR
FATHER
What happened to you my child?
Kim turns his back to him, heading towards Isaac.
FATHER
Please come here. Talk to me my child.
Kim stops, closing her eyes.
KIM
I’m sorry dad. I will miss you.
Kim slams the buttons and the screen blinks off. The
display on the monitor disappears. Putting her head on the desk, she
starts weeping quietly.
Isaac touches her on the shoulder.
As Kim faces him, he pulls her towards him. Entangling
her arms around him, Kim hugs him.
KIM
I just turned my back on my father.
On my Planet.
ISAAC
I know, but it is for the best. We have
to find a way that we can live in peace.
Kim pulls back, looking Isaac in the eyes.
KIM
Do you think we can find a way?
ISAAC
We have to.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CARGO BAY - NIGHT
The timer reads TWENTY-TWO MINUTES TO GO.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Kim is still embraced with Isaac.
ISAAC
Let's go back to earth.
The lights on the spacecraft start to dim out. With
the emergency lights switching on, the hum of the spacecraft changes.
Both of them look around.
Kim rushes to the central control panel. She starts
keying the computer. Nothing seems to happen.
ISAAC
What happened?
KIM
I don't know. We lost primary power,
trying to switch to backup.
Continuing to key the computer, she keeps moving from
console to console.
KIM
Someone has over ridden the primary
commands, attempting to come in from
the back door.
She looks up as the lights come back on, the hum of
the spacecraft returning. Isaac steps up beside her.
KIM
Got it back.
ISAAC
Who did this?
KIM
I don’t know, but I will attempt to
lock out the controls.
The series of monitors flash back on line.
KIM
Look here. I found who.
Kim points to the monitor.
INSERT THE MONITOR
As four smaller spacecraft, designed for interception
appear from deep space. Rapidly they move into position. One staying in
camera view as the others veer off to their respective positions.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
The large spacecraft is trapped in between the four
other spacecraft. Three of them encircle the trapped one while the other
moves into a head to head position. Preparing to escort it to Mars.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Kim is working on the computer.
KIM
Trying to maneuver around them.
The spacecraft lurches as it collides, almost knocking
Kim and Isaac off their feet.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
The spacecraft continues to be surrounded by the four
smaller spacecraft. Whenever the spacecraft tries to deviate from the
fight path, it collides with a warplane.
A wide spread blue particle beam comes out form the
lead spacecraft, sweeping over the hull of the spacecraft. The large
spacecraft shudders.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
The spacecraft shudders in resistance. Kim and Isaac
hang on looking around as the ship smoothes out.
Kim looks down at the central console.
KIM
They have locked onto us.
As she keys the computer, the spacecraft starts to
shudder again. This time more violently. The engines whine under the
strain, building in volume as the spacecraft starts to buckle.
Pipes explode flying across the room.
The outer shell starts to buckle, large welts
springing forward in the metal.
Isaac looks over at the buckle.
ISAAC
We got a problem.
Intent, Kim is working on the computer.
KIM
I’m trying to break us free.
ISAAC
You’re breaking us apart.
More pipes explode, tearing across the floor, barely
missing Kim and Isaac. Hissing sound of flowing air fills the room.
Kim looks up as the spacecraft moans in resistance. A
long wail followed by a sharp crack.
ISAAC
We are losing it.
Kim frantically punches number into the computer. The
shuddering and noise fading out to nothing.
KIM
Damn, I should have known.
Kim keys the transmitter.
KIM
Dad. (beat) What the hell are you
doing?
FATHER
(filtered over speaker)
I'm sorry my daughter. But you leave me
no choice. We will talk about this soon.
Static fills the speaker before it cuts out. Kim
slouches onto the console.
KIM
No choice. My ass.
EXT. MARS - ROUGH FIELD - NIGHT
With everything bathed in a hue of red, the spacecraft
is forced to land on an open field beside a closed structure that spans
across the surface.
As the landing skids hit the ground, two huge clamps
emerge from the ground, securing the spacecraft.
After it is secured, the four small spacecraft move
away to an orbital position.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Kim and Isaac listen as the docking clamps lock down
on the spacecraft.
FATHER
(filtered over speaker)
Welcome to mars Dr. Isaac. Don't make
any heroic moves. I will meet you in
a minute.
CLOSE ON KIM
Her mind racing with thought as her eyes jump around
the inside of the cabin.
She immediately taps away on the computer.
KIM
That should by us some time.
Taking out a laser gun from the desk, she hits the CCD
camera lens.
KIM
I think it will take some time for
them to get into the ship. We need
to get out of here. We can’t fight
them from here.
Isaac follows her over to a shelving unit.
ISAAC
And how are we suppose to fight them?
Removing two self-contained breathing apparatus from
the shelve, she tosses one to Isaac.
Catching it, Isaac looks at her questioning.
As Kim puts her on.
KIM
Being the Princess of Mars, I am
privy to some useful information.
Looking up at Isaac.
KIM
Would you trust me.
ISAAC
What's this?
KIM
There is no oxygen outside, but this
will only last for ten minutes.
Kim scowls at him.
KIM
Would you hurry up.
CUT TO:
INT. COMPLEX - NIGHT
The long wail of a siren fills the entire complex. A
sense of urgency is developing amongst the people in there as they rush
to their respective stations. One by one they collect their laser guns,
teams of battle ready Martians rushing towards the entrance.
INT. CORRIDOR - NIGHT
In a single file the armed Martians head down it.
Gearing themselves up as they move in an organized fashion.
EXT. OPEN FIELD - NIGHT
Kim and Isaac are running hard through the red shadows
of the planet. Moving through the desolate landscape away from their
spacecraft.
Slowing down, Isaac rests for a minute. Finding it
very difficult to run with lesser oxygen, he gasps for his breath.
CLOSE ON KIM
As she looks back, breathing deep into her mask.
KIM
Come on, Isaac. The siren is on.
She grabs him by the arm.
KIM
This way.
Kim stops at a rock face. Placing her hand over a
small indention of a hand print in the rock, a small keypad emerges.
Kim punches in a series of numbers.
She steps back, Isaac moving up beside her.
CLOSE ON THE ROCK
As a small door opens in the rock.
Kim climbs through the opening, followed by Isaac.
Then Kim closes the door.
EXT. COMPLEX - NIGHT
A large door opens. The vacuum of Mars sucking out the
oxygen from the interior loading area. A group of Martians, fully geared
up, rushes towards the spaceship.
INT. COMPLEX - DUCT - NIGHT
In what seems to be drainage tunnel, Kim and Isaac are
moving quickly through the cramp confines. Water splashing while they
run.
Kim takes a bend disappearing from view. Isaac
following.
EXT. MARS - OPEN FIELD - NIGHT
Fanning out to cover their advance, the groups of
Martians are nearing the spaceship. Encircling their approach.
INT. COMPLEX - DUCT - NIGHT
Kim stops for a while, looking around.
Isaac moves beside her.
ISAAC
What’s next?
Kim starts knocking on the wall. It is solid.
ISAAC
What are you doing?
Checking down the wall, Kim continues knocking.
KIM
It is here some place.
She knocks on the wall. A hollow sound comes out from
the wall, echoing in the duct.
Kim kneels in the water. Once again she hits the wall
where the hollow sound came from.
CLOSE ON THE WALL
As Kim takes out a slab from the wall. As she peels
away the covering a hand wheel comes into view.
Kim looks over at Isaac.
KIM
I told you, trust me.
She rotates it and a door opens at the top of the
duct.
Kim holds onto Isaac, using him as a ladder as she
climbs up through the hole. Isaac helps to push her through the hole.
INT. CHAMBER ROOM - NIGHT
Kim is entering a weapons chamber. Coming up through a
hole in the floor. All around her, the walls and windows tower above her
in the high infrastructure. The walls covered with shelving units
holding cameras, missiles, and various weapons.
CLOSE ON THE FLOOR
As Kim enters through it. She presses her arms against
the floor lifting her lower body out of the hole.
She leans into the opening offering her hand to Isaac.
CLOSE ON KIM
As she leans into the hole.
KIM
Grab my hand Isaac.
Isaac grabs her hand.
After pulling him through the hole, Kim turns, looking
over the area.
Rushing over to a series of shelves, Kim collects a
weapon.
She studies the weapon, and with a flick of a switch,
the weapon comes alive, humming with energy.
Kim heads towards the window.
With a weapon in hand, Isaac sits down besides her,
glancing out the glass window.
KIM
Put your mask back on.
No sooner than their breathing apparatus are back on,
Kim sets the weapon on a low setting. Using it to cut through the glass.
Air starts to suck out the small hole.
EXT. MARS - OPEN FIELD - NIGHT
The Martians are spread out in a box formation along
the side of the spacecraft. One Martian cautiously approaches the door.
Standing on a ladder, the Martian applies a small
black box to the keypad. Random numbers flash in red as it attempts to
override the lockout.
CLOSE ON THE NUMBERS
As a number locks into place, quickly followed by
another.
The Martian turns to give a thumbs up to his comrades.
Suddenly his chest explodes in a flash. Pain grimacing briefly on his
face as he falls off the ladder.
The black box explodes in flash of light.
The downed Martian lies motionless on the ground.
One of his counterparts rushes from his position to
his aide.
CLOSE ON THE MARTIAN
Shocked and frightened, as he leans over to look at
his friend. His eyes switch up to the camera. Instantly his helmet is
torn from his face from the laser shot.
Violent spasms thrash through his body as he attempts
to cover the hole in his helmet. Blood splatters up through his fingers
as his body goes limp.
CUT TO:
INT. CHAMBER ROOM - NIGHT
Through the sights, Kim squeezes the trigger of the
laser weapon.
SERIES OF SHOTS
Kim switches targets, firing again.
Two more Martians are down. The rest have acquired the
target, turning to fire back.
Laser blasts punch clean holes through the glass all
around Kim. She doesn’t flinch as she continues to take out target
after target. More air is being sucked out of the room, forceful.
Moving in a sweeping pattern, the Martians are
advancing on the chamber house. One after another they continue to fall.
Their numbers dwindling.
Isaac slouches to the floor, using the wall as a block
against the laser blasts that continue to take out the window.
Small articles are drawn to the holes in the window.
Flying through the air. The shelves shake from the pressure. Suddenly an
alarm is triggered.
Large steel doors instantly slam shut, cutting off the
airflow from adjacent rooms.
Kim continues to fire as the last of the air is sucked
out into the vacuum of Mars.
Isaac looks around as the room settles down.
The Martians are retreating. Moving back from the
chamber house.
One Martian on a radio is frantically calling for
help.
Focusing in on a new target, Kim’s attention does
not falter.
The Communication Martian goes down in a flash.
Kim continues to pick target after target.
In no time all the Martians have fallen to the ground.
END SERIES OF SHOTS
INT. CHAMBER ROOM - NIGHT
Kim slouches back on the wall.
CLOSE ON KIM
Exhaling deeply. The rush of adrenaline is pulsating
through her system.
KIM
Okay. Let's make a move to our ship.
Isaac glances out the window, not believing what he
just paid witness to.
He looks over at Kim.
ISAAC
Kim.
Kim smiles.
KIM
Surprise.
She gives him a quick hug, then heads away from the
window.
Isaac looks out of the window. His eyes widen with
fright.
ISAAC
Kim.
Kim spins looking out the window.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
The four small spacecraft are rapidly approaching the
complex. Coming in fast, in formation, on a bombing run.
INT. OFFICE - NIGHT
Sitting in the dark, Kim’s Father is deep in thought
as he stares across his desk.
The door opens, the light from the adjacent room
falling across him. Slowly he looks up.
MAN (O.S.)
We have engaged the enemy sir.
FATHER
I want them take alive.
MAN (O.S.)
But sir, they have already wiped
out an entire platoon. What if they
get into the complex? There they will
be able to .....
Enraged, he stands from his chair, forcing it
backwards, cutting off the man.
FATHER
I said I want them alive.
MAN (O.S.)
Yes sir.
FATHER
Go.
INT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
The Martian punches in numbers on his dash. The dash
lighting up as the weapons lock in on the area.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
Missiles slam into the ground, walking their way
across the ground to the building. The entire area has started to
explodes. Fireballs consuming everything they touch.
INT. CHAMBER - NIGHT
Kim grabs a hold of Isaac, both of them running across
the room as the missiles continue to walk towards the building.
A missile makes a direct hit on the wall, blowing it
clean off the building. Dust and debris fly all over the place, knocking
them over as the Spacecrafts fly over top of them.
Laying flat on the ground, the two of them look up.
ISAAC
That was too close.
KIM
There only going to get closer.
Kim runs to the corner of the room, collecting a
shoulder mounted missile. Kneeling in the opening she aims the weapon.
Isaac watches her. A red flash on his oxygen container
alerts him.
ISAAC
Whatever you are up to, do it now.
We have two minutes of air left.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
The spacecrafts turn in on another run. A volley of
missiles leaving their craft.
INT. CHAMBER - NIGHT
As Kim focuses her missile at a spacecraft, she pauses
looking up. The missiles are closing in on them. Dropping the weapon,
she runs towards Isaac. The missiles come through the open area.
Kim pushes Isaac through the opening in the floor.
Missiles exploding all around her.
KIM
Jump.
Fire breaks out inside the room. In no time it spreads
everywhere. Flames catch the missiles and bombs inside the room.
Secondary explosions start occurring.
Kim drops through the hole, seconds later a massive
explosion rocks the room.
INT. DUCT - NIGHT
Kim lands on top of Isaac. The two of them in a heap
as the duct shakes. Dust falling.
Grabbing her by the hand, Isaac drags her away from
the opening.
A huge fireball engulfs the opening, moving quickly as
more explosions occur up top.
INT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
A Martian tips his spacecraft so he can see the
explosions occurring down below.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
A TOP VIEW of a huge fire breaking out on the ground.
The entire building is engulfed in flames with secondary explosions

Spacecraft reacting to his motions.
MARTIAN
Break off. Break off. We are ordered
to break off.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
The four Spacecraft break off their formation, heading
to a safe altitude.
The Spacecrafts join the lead spacecraft, cruising
above the destruction below.
INT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
The Martian looks back over his shoulder.
MARTIAN
I think we are too late.
INT. DUCT - NIGHT
Leading the way, Isaac is dragging Kim behind him as
they run down through the duct.
The two are getting close to the door to the outside.
Kim is struggling, trying to open a door at the end of
the duct. Isaac is struggling to breath.
ISAAC
Quick.. I’m having a hard time to
breath.
KIM
One minute.
The latch turns.
KIM
Yeah. It's open.
Kim kicks the door open.
KIM
Run.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
Closing his eyes as he feels a weapon on his back.
MARTIAN
Hands up.
Both stop moving. Disappointed, Kim slowly looks back.
The duct trembling.
CLOSE ON MARTIAN SOLDIER
As he is holding a laser gun on Isaac. An arrogant
smile creeps across his face.
MARTIAN
Outside. let’s go.
He pushes Isaac out the door, forcing Kim to move.
EXT. MARS - OPEN FIELD - NIGHT
Kim stands, backing away.
The Martian Soldier pushes Isaac away from him.
Taking advantage of the situation, Kim kicks the door
closed before the Martian Soldier is able to exit.
Jumping on it, Kim locks the door.
INT. DUCT - NIGHT
Hit with the door, the Martian Soldier falls down into
the water.
CLOSE ON MARTIAN SOLDIER
Looking up as the trembling worsens. Shock fills his
face as the sound of a freight train rumbles through the duct.
A wall of fire rushes down the inside the duct.
Yelling, the ill-fated Martian Soldier runs towards
the exit. Bouncing off the secured door seconds before the fireball
engulfs him.
EXT. MARS - OPEN FIELD - NIGHT
Hearing the rumble building, Kim and Isaac start to
run towards their spacecraft.
CLOSE ON THE DOOR
As it shudders with resistance. It starts to buckle,
then explodes outward with tremendous force.
Diving to the ground, Kim and Isaac scramble for cover
as the door and fireball explodes out into the field. The incinerated
body of the Martian Soldiers flies though the air.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
CLOSE ON THE SPACECRAFT
Attracted by the flash, the spacecrafts bank around
for a closer look.
EXT. MARS - OPEN FIELD - NIGHT
Kim yanks Isaac off the ground. He is almost out of
oxygen, panting and struggling to breath.
KIM
C’mon. We are almost there.
Struggling with her own lack of oxygen, Kim drags
Isaac towards their spacecraft.
EXT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
Kim pushes Isaac up the steps to the spacecraft. Both
of them are growing weak as they reach for the entrance.
Steadying Isaac, Kim punches in the security code.
They both fall forward as the door opens.
INT. MARTIAN SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
The Pilot watches.
PILOT
Central Command, please be advised
they are in their spacecraft..
EXT. THE SPACE - NIGHT
The spacecraft climbs in altitude, heading into the
outer atmosphere of Mars.
The smaller spacecrafts swing around. Starting to
chase it.
Escaping the gravitational pull of the planet, the
larger spacecraft increases its speed.
The gap between the spacecraft’s gradually widen.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Constantly working the computer, Kim feverishly tries
to keep control of the spacecraft.
Isaac pulls his body off the floor. Inhaling deeply.
Kim continues to key the computer.
KIM
They keep overriding me. I don’t
know how long I can keep this up.
She checks the monitors.
KIM
They keep slowing me down. No matter
how I get the speed up, they counter
act it within a few seconds.
IN THE MONITORS
The following spacecraft are beginning to close the
distance.
Isaac steps up beside her.
ISAAC
What can we do?
KIM
I don’t know. At this rate they will
be on us in a couple of minutes.
Continuing to key the computer.
KIM
Damn. Whoever is on the other end
is good.
Switching to another panel, Kim continues her work.
KIM
Lets try to slow them down.
Kim pulls a lever on the desk in front of her. She
glances up at the monitor.
EXT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
A series of ports open along the bottom of the
spacecraft. Missile heads drop into the openings.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Isaac looks around as the power in the spacecraft
starts to drop. Kim keeps working on the computer as systems start to
shut down. Isaac gets worried.
ISAAC
Kim, we are slowing down.
Intent on the task at hand.
KIM
Let them work on that. It should
keep them busy while I get these
bastards.
Kim pushes a large red button.
EXT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
A missile flies out of one of the ports.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
With the four spacecraft rapidly closing. The missile
locks on the lead target.
The missile speeds to its acquired target, following
it as they start their evasive maneuvers.
CLOSE ON THE SPACECRAFT
As the missile hits the front side of it. The Pilot
looses control as his craft is torn apart in the explosion.
Stuck in the vacuum of space, the damaged spacecraft
and its parts drift away, spinning out of control.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Isaac is looking outside. Through the window, the hit
spacecraft is spinning out of control. Excited, he turns to Kim.
ISAAC
Way to go girl.
Concentrating on the task at hand, Kim enters another
sets of coordinates.
KIM
There still more out there.
She pushes the red button again.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
Another spacecraft faces the same fate as that of his
friend. Exploding into a brief ball of fire.
The remaining spacecraft bug out of the area.
Hightailing back home.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
A jubilant Kim hugs Isaac.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
The spacing between the spacecrafts is getting wider
and wider.
INT. SPACECRAFT - CABIN - NIGHT
Relaxing, Isaac lifts Kim off the ground, both of them
laughing.
CLOSE ON KIM
As she snuggles in close.
KIM
Now do you believe me?
Isaac shakes his head.
ISAAC
I still have my doubts.
Slow, Kim takes her face off of Isaac’s chest. Hurt
in her eyes as she looks up at him.
KIM
Why?
No longer able to conceal his feelings, a smile
springs on his face. He goes to kiss Kim.
ISAAC
Of course I believe you.
She pushes him.
KIM
Isaac.
She pushes him again.
KIM
That is not funny.
Kim forces Isaac playfully against the center console,
lifting her face to his.
KIM
Not funny at all. (beat) You owe
me for that.
ISAAC
Owe you what?
KIM
Well (beat) We’ll start with this.
She gives him a deep passionate kiss.
ISAAC
I think I am in trouble.
KIM
Tell me how.
As Kim passionately wraps herself around Isaac, he
flinches in pain.
KIM
What?
Looking down, Kim touches his sore spot.
ISAAC
I’m still a little sore.
Kim moves over to the computer.
KIM
That’s okay. We still have to get
out of here. They will be back soon.
As Kim starts keying the computer, Isaac feels his
hip. As he prods around the area, pain radiates on his face.
ISAAC
My hip is sore.
CLOSE ON KIM
As she smile at Isaac.
KIM
I’ll look after you when we get out
of here.
Returning her smile, Isaac pulls out his small sensor.
A red light flashing on it.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
As the smile drops from his face. His eyes locked onto
the sensor. Tension mounting.
CLOSE ON THE SENSOR
A pulsed figure expanses and diminishes in the liquid
crystal display. Isaac’s finger flicks a switch. Instantly the
mini-speaker emits a continuous beeping sound.
Isaac drops the sensor, turning to Kim.
ISAAC
Oh my God. I had the sound off.
Confused, Kim looks over at Isaac.
KIM
What?
CLOSE ON ISAAC
panicking.
ISAAC
Where is my weapon? The nuclear weapon.
Where is it?
More baffled, Kim points to the far door.
KIM
It's in the cargo hold, still in
your ship.
Without answering her, he rushes towards the door.
Isaac tries to unlock the door, but to no avail. He
slams his hand against it as he looks back at Kim.
ISAAC
Damn it. I need to get in here.
Kim crosses the floor.
KIM
Isaac? What’s wrong?
Facing Kim as she approaches.
ISAAC
We rigged the weapon to explode
automatically in the case of any
problem to the shuttle.
KIM
Jesus Isaac. Why didn’t you tell
me that?
ISAAC
I checked it when I woke up. There
was no problem with it then.
Pushing Isaac aside.
KIM
This door works on remote control.
Let me try.
She starts to enter comments in the computer. There is
no response in the display of the monitor. Kim stares at it.
KIM
Come on.
Kim heads back to the center console.
KIM
Maybe I can override it from here.
INSERT THE SERIES OF MONITOR
Slowly, in a blurred image, a figure comes on the
monitors. Within a few seconds, Kim’s father is visible.
CLOSE ON KIM
As she looks up at him.
KIM
Father. We are in danger. (beat)
If you have ever loved me, please
release the control of this ship
to me.
Tears well up in her eyes.
KIM
Father. (beat) This is the last
thing I will ever ask of you.
INSERT THE DISPLAY
Kim’s father sits in his chair. Sadness etched deep
into his face.
FATHER
I have always loved you my child.
Always. Even if you don’t believe
me.
He leans forward, tapping on a computer.
FATHER
Take care my child, and save yourself.
You now have full control of the ship.
The monitor fades out.
CLOSE ON KIM
Swallowing hard as she stares at the static, realizing
that her father truly does love her.
KIM
I love you too.
Catching herself, she rushes across the floor.
KIM
We better move it.
CUT TO:
INT. SPACECRAFT - CARGO BAY - NIGHT
Wasting no time, Kim slides down the ladder. Hitting
the bottom, she waits as Isaac quickly follows.
Together they rush across the floor to the damaged
shuttle.
Isaac turns the handle to the latch on the bottom of
the shuttle. He forces a hand-lock down, pulling on the door. It does
not move.
Kim steps up beside him. Together they try to muscle
the door open.
KIM
It’s not moving.
ISAAC
I know. I know.
Isaac checks the sensor, the beat of the flash
increasing in time.
ISAAC
We are running out of time.
Together they put their shoulders into it. The door
slowly responds.
ISAAC
Come on. Open.
Suddenly it pops open.
KIM
Alright.
INT. SHUTTLE - NIGHT
Hurried, Isaac enters the cargo bay, examining the
extent of damage.
With hardly any light in that portion of the shuttle,
Isaac tosses aside damaged parts of the shuttle as he makes his way to
the weapon. Kim following behind him.
Isaac finds the weapon, secured in its lock up.
ISAAC
Here
Kim pushes him aside.
KIM
Let’s get it out of there.
Kim pulls on the lever to open the glass window. It
does not budge. In fear, she looks at Isaac.
KIM
It’s your weapon. Do something.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
As he looks at Kim, then the sensor. His face drops.
ISAAC
Two minutes left. (beat) We don’t
have enough time.
Kim grabs a hold of the lever.
KIM
Bullshit. Now give me a hand.
Putting the sensor down, he joins Kim helping to pull
on the lever. Both are giving their full effort.
As they force against the metal, their faces show
extensive turmoil and strain.
Their eyes meet, adding to their desperation.
Groaning they give it their all.
Slowly the lever releases and the door opens.
KIM
We better move our asses.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
Sweeping shot of the spacecraft moving fast through
space.
CLOSE ON THE PORT SIDE
As a port door opens. Suddenly there are bluish
streaks of air escaping into the void of space. Quickly ending. Then due
to the external high pressure, atmosphere stones start to enter the
spacecraft.
INT. THE SPACESHIP - DAY
In pressure suits, Isaac and Kim are floating inside
of the cargo bay. Loose objects all around them, floating, streaks of
stones enter through the open door, tearing into the interior of the
spacecraft.
Kim grabs a hold of the wall. Isaac struggles to get a
grip onto something.
After tethering herself to the wall, Kim jumps for the
weapon
Isaac, attaches his tether close to the door.
Slowly Kim floats to the weapon. Reaching it, she
latches herself to it. Struggling with the weightlessness, she attempts
to push it. It moves slowly to the door.
Kim strains to push the weapon, but with no foothold,
it moves slowly. The timer on the weapon counts down quickly. Less than
a minute to go.
Finally Kim’s feet reach the floor, and she pushes
hard. The weapon moves faster.
Isaac reaches out for the weapon, but spins out of
control.
Walking across the floor, Kim shoves the weapon with
all her strength.
The large nuclear warhead moves freely, picking up
speed.
Stopping, Kim watches as the weapon slides out the
door.
The end of the nuclear weapon catches Kim’s tether.
Suddenly swept off of her feet, Kim struggles to grab
a hold of something as she is carried out the door.
EXT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
Reaching the extent of her tether, Kim is suddenly
snapped to a halt. The nuclear weapon floating off in space.
Desperate she looks at the nuclear weapon as it floats
away. Abruptly she grabs a hold of her tether, fighting the force of
space to get back inside.
INT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
While hanging onto his hold, Isaac reaches for Kim’s
tether. It remains just out of his reaches as he struggles.
The tether, taunt, dances just out of reach of
Isaac’s fingertips.
Lunging forward, Isaac manages to reach the tether.
With all his strength, Isaac pulls on the tether.
EXT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
As time draws close, Kim continues to pull herself up
her tether. She is suddenly snapped forward. Her momentum increasing.
Getting a hold of the door, Kim pulls herself in.
Isaac reaches out for her. Grabbing a hold of her
pressure suit, he pulls her into the spacecraft.
A large flash illuminates them, both of them shield
their eyes from it.
As the illumination lessens, Isaac quickly closes the
door.
EXT. SPACE - NIGHT
A large shock wave moves out in all directions.
Brilliant in color as it rides through space.
Moving out in expansion, the shock wave heads for the
spacecraft.
The shock wave quickly overtakes the spacecraft.
Picking it up on its way, shaking and pounding on the metal as it tosses
it about.
INT. SPACECRAFT - NIGHT
Jostled about, Kim and Isaac are slammed around on the
floor as the spacecraft absorbs the full brunt force of the shock wave.
The spacecraft tilts and lists, the walls seem to
breath. Kim reaches her hand out for Isaac.
As the violent shock wave slams through the craft,
Isaac grabs Kim’s hand. Then as quickly as it occurred, it dies out.
Spent, both of them lay back on the floor, holding
hands.
Laughter fills the area, growing in volume as Isaac
sits up, removing his helmet.
ISAAC
We did it.
Tossing the helmet aside, he lays back on the floor,
continuing to laugh out of excitement.
ISAAC
We did it.
Seeing that Kim is not engaging in his emotions he
looks over at her.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
With relief stamped deep in his face. He smiles at
Kim.
ISAAC
What an escape! On our return to
earth, I will get a heroes welcome.
Kim rolls over to Isaac.
A worried looking Kim rests her face on Isaac's chest.
ISAAC
What’s wrong?
KIM
Please make me a promise.
Isaac lifts Kim’s face.
ISAAC
What's that?
KIM
I don’t want anyone to know about
me. From now on I want to live
peacefully with you.
Isaac nods his head.
ISAAC
Anything for you.
EXT. SCHOOL PLAY GROUND - DAY
It is recess time and school children, all around
twelve years of age are playing an unorganized game of soccer.
Four little girls are playing doubles tennis. Others
are waiting for their turn. One of them hits the ball and it goes
outside the court.
CLOSE ON THE BALL
As it bounces twice, going over the school fence.
One of the girls drops her racket.
CHILD
I’ll get it.
She climbs up the short fence. Hitting the top she
looks around.
EXT. PARK - DAY
The tennis ball has landed near a bush. The child runs
towards it.
As she leans forward to collect it, the wind picks up,
fluttering her hair. A trembling shakes the earth. A deep rumble
pounding on the ground, vibrating into her legs.
CLOSE ON THE GIRL
Scared, as she hears the noise. Looking up her eyes
widen. Her hair wisp back.
CHILD
Teacher.
EXT. PARK - DAY
The spacecraft makes its final descent into the park.
Violent winds and down drafts pushing trees aside, scattering loose
objects across the ground. People run in all directions.
The ground trembles as the spacecraft sinks into the
soft ground. Without notice everything goes quiet, the trembling fading
out.
CLOSE ON THE SPACECRAFT
As a ladder comes out from the open door. Kim steps
out from the door, going down the ladder. Seconds later Isaac follows
her.
Kim jumps from the last rung of the ladder to the
grass. She stretches her shoulder as she looks back. Isaac joins her.
ISAAC
I don’t recognize this place.
KIM
I know.
Kim twists her lips, studying the area.
KIM
I'm sure this is the place where you
took off in your shuttle.
Isaac looks around, then slowly walks on the grass,
Kim following him. Isaac points out to the play ground to Kim.
ISAAC
It looks like a school.
EXT. PLAY GROUND - DAY
Most of the children are standing in the playground,
watching Kim and Isaac walk towards them. Adults pour out of the school,
joining the children.
A child kicks a soccer ball.
The soccer ball bounces across the ground, landing by
Kim’s feet. Kim picks it up and when she looks up, the children are
starting to gather in front of them.
YOUNG BOY
Look at them. They are dressed like
circus clowns.
A loud laugh breaks out in the gathering.
Smiling, Isaac approaches the boy, patting his face.
ISAAC
What is the name of this place?
One boy comes from the backside of Isaac, tugging on
his shirt.
TEACHER (O.S.)
Excuse me.
Isaac turns around. A white dressed teacher, in her
mid fifties is standing near him. The children gather around her.
TEACHER
May I help you?
KIM
We don’t mean to trouble you. (beat)
Well, we are a little confused.
Wasn't there supposed to be a rocket
launching pad here?
CLOSE ON THE TEACHER
As she looks at the both of them confused. Her eyes
questioning as they bounce back and forth between Kim and Isaac.
TEACHER
It hasn’t been here for some thirty
years. They tore it down to build this
school and housing community.
Shocked Isaac and Kim look at each other. Slowly they
walk away.
KIM
Sorry to have bothered you.
Everyone slowly follows as they head away.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. HOUSE - DAY
Isaac steps up onto the porch of a house. He looks
around at it, like he knows the place but no longer recognizes it. He
wipes the snow from his shoulders
Gently he knocks the door. An old lady, in her sixties
opens the door. She stares at them. Kim, who stands besides him, holds
his hand.
LADY
Hello.
She talks in a loud voice but there is discontinuity
in word flow.
LADY
Who are you?
ISAAC
Sorry, I need some information.
LADY
What information?
ISAAC
Well, here .. A six year old girl lives
here. She use to give me a rose every
day. Her name is Minna. Do you know her?
CLOSE ON THE LADY
shocked, trying to recognize him.
LADY
I'm Minna.
Taken back, Isaac moves off the porch, stumbling on
the steps.
ISAAC
Impossible.
Isaac looks back at her.
ISAAC
What about the Lady next door?
Lynda?
Trying to recognize Isaac, she steps out of her house.
MINNA
She died years ago. Right after her
son went missing.
Worried, Isaac looks at Kim. Kim squeezes his hand
harder in order to comfort him.
KIM
Don’t worry. Let’s go to your research
center. Maybe you can get your answer
there.
CLOSE ON THE OLD LADY
As she watches them move towards their vehicle.
MINNA
(mouthing)
Isaac?!
EXT. STREET - DAY
Heading over to a parked car, Isaac walks into the
street. Kim straggles along behind him.
A Kid bolts into the street, running in front of
Isaac. A misdirected snowball, missing the child, slams into his chest.
Isaac stops. Wide eyed the Kid stares up at him.
KIDS
Sorry Sir.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
Quiet, sadness in his eyes, looking down on the child.
Without responding, or cleaning the snow off of him,
he steps around the Kid.
Stunned and a little scared, the Kid watches as the
two of them walk to the car. His little friend joining him.
Kim glances back at the Children. Her eyes set back in
her head. Sullen.
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. DR. KRISTEN’S OFFICE - DAY
OPEN ON Isaac’s cupped hands over his face. Slowly
he removes his hands, his eyes telling the rage, torment and loss that
he is experiencing.
ISAAC
That's what happened to me Dr.
Kristen. That’s my story
In silence Dr. Kristen looks at both of them. His eyes
are cutting back and forth between Kim and Isaac. He goes to say
something, but first collects his thoughts.
KRISTEN
Well Isaac, you really do deserve a
heroes welcome on your return to earth,
but instead your employer has given
you nothing but trouble.
(beat)
This is something very strange.
Isaac looks over at Kim.
ISAAC
Yes, it's very strange. I can’t
understand what has happened to me
or to the earth after my return here.
(beat)
I think .. I think I have become mad.
Kim reaches for his hand.
Dr. Kristen stands up, walking towards the window. He
moves the curtain, staring outside. Isaac and Kim are watching him
silently.
EXT. HOUSE - DAY
Slowly sunlight filters through the barren trees. The
morning routine of the world waking is occurring. Early commuters head
off to work. A young boy folds a newspaper, putting it into Dr.
Kristen’s box.
INT. DR. KRISTEN’S’ OFFICE - DAY
Dr. Kristen turns back to them.
KRISTEN
Would you like to have some coffee?
ISAAC
No thanks.
He walks towards them, sitting down in the chair.
KRISTEN
By the by Kim, when did you kidnap
Isaac?
KIM
August 6, 1999
KRISTEN
Excuse me.
Isaac raises his eyebrows, looking at him pensively.
ISAAC
It was around four in the evening.
And we returned to earth in say a
couple of hours or so.
KRISTEN
You returned to earth after a
couple of hours.
ISAAC
Yes. Kim's spacecraft is very fast.
Isaac nods his head.
ISAAC
It’s true.
Dr. Kristen removes his glasses, looking at Isaac for
the first time as a patient.
KRISTEN
Today the date is September 7, 2048.
CLOSE ON ISAAC
As more confusion starts to mount on his face.
ISAAC
What? (beat) Dr. Kristen what are
you me? We traveled for the most
two hours.
Quietly he looks at Isaac.
Isaac and Kim look at each other for a while. Both are
speechless.
In order to break their silence he coughs.
KRISTEN
I think it's best if the both of
you were to rest for a while. I
will write out a prescription for
you. Meanwhile let me bring you
something for now.
Dr. Kristen stands up, leaving the room.
Kim continues to hold Isaac’s hand, looking deep
into his eyes for a while. Suddenly she springs out from her chair going
after Dr. Kristen. Isaac follows.
INT. KITCHEN - DAY
As Kim enters the kitchen, Dr. Kristen is pouring out
juice.
KIM
Excuse me Dr. Kristen. I think both of
us are correct.
Dr. Kristen stops, turning to face them. He steps
towards them.
KRISTEN
What are you telling? You left the
earth around fifty year's back and
still you look like a teen-age girl?
Kim looks grim, yet determined. There is array of
confidence in her face. She starts to speak feebly but authentically.
KIM
Yes. We are a hundred percent correct.
Isaac is the first man ever to experience
Twin's Paradox.
KRISTEN
What's that?
CLOSE ON KIM
KIM
It's based on Einstein theory of
relativity, the great scientist who
lived in the early twenty century.
Listen to me carefully.
(beat)
Twin Paradox theory states that...
Consider twin brothers. One travels in
a vehicle at the speed of light, while
the other remains on earth. On his return
the brother would find himself younger
than his brother.
(beat)
That's what happened to Isaac. We
traveled in the spacecraft at a speed of
three lakhs kilometers per seconds. So,
as for Isaac is concern his couple of
hours in the movable frame of reference
is equivalent to the fifty years of fixed
frames of reference on Earth
Dr. Kristen smiles stepping towards Kim. She smiles
back at him.
KRISTEN
Unbelievable.
Isaac moves past them to the door, stopping he turns
back to them.
ISAAC
Kim is right. I too studied this concept
in my school days, but I really couldn't
imagine that I had experienced it.
Dr. Kristen puts his hand on Kim’s shoulder.
KRISTEN
Remarkable. It is you.
Isaac opens the door.
ISAAC
Well I am going to go back to the
Nuclear Research Center? I will resume
my duties tomorrow after a gap of fifty
years, but I will only submit a leave
letter only for two days.
He exits, leaving the door open.
ISAAC (O.S.)
Are you coming Kim?
Kim looks at the door.
KIM
Coming.
As she steps away, Dr. Kristen grabs her by the arm.
KRISTEN
So everything went as planned. (beat)
Well almost.
Kim stares him right in the eye.
KIM
You know what to do.
KRISTEN
You were suppose to have killed him.
He wasn’t suppose to return to Earth.
It wasn’t part of the plan.
She pulls her arm free from him.
KIM
Like I said. You know what to do.
Disgusted with herself, she stomps out of the house.
Dr. Kristen watching.
Immediately he heads to the telephone.
KRISTEN
Yes, it is me. (beat) Dr. Isaac is
still alive. I’m telling you, Kim
just brought him here. (beat) No,
he has no idea that he was the key
to all of this.
The sound of a vehicle turning over causes Dr. Kristen
to look to the door. His eyes focused.
KRISTEN
No, I had a long conversation with
him and he doesn't know that Mars
has been ruling Earth since he left.
(beat)
I know, but he is still alive. What
do we do now?
FADE OUT:
THE END.
