This is one of the rarest and hardest-to-find Hole singles out there. But I got lucky 3 weeks ago when I won it at an auction on the Ebay auction site.
This long-deleted single (aren't all Hole singles deleted?!) was only released in Germany sometime in either late or early 1994, but I think there's a copy of it at Vinyl Tap Records.
I'm assuming that it was released in early 1994, considering the inside flap says "Miss World, taken from the forthcoming Geffen/DGC album, Live Through This. It's my favorite Hole single that I own so far, the only Hole single I have that has the rarest b-sides. Of course, the song "Miss World" is the featured track. It also has the "alternate" version of the song "Rock Star" (really called "Olympia," as we all know by now), and a rare live version of Hole's cover of Echo & the Bunnymen's song, "Do It Clean."

I love the packaging. It's in a famous Geffen single case, the really thin jewel case. But the single was released on the German label City Slang. The cover bores a little girl dressed in a striped dress and has a too-big crown on her head, with a pink shash across her chest, with the glittery words "Miss World" on it. The other half of the girl's body is on the inside of the single, along with the credits to the songs, etc. The logo is the famous "candy heart" Hole logo. Cute.

Miss World- First Hole Geffen single to be released. Obviously, it's the album/LP version of the song. Great song, it's familiar to all of us.

Rock Star- This is a song I can gush about. It's not the regular version of this song that we are all used to, it's the "alternate mix." A mix. It's very obvious if you listen to it. Courtney's vocals sound discordant and very echoed. I actually like this version better than the album version. The lyrics are very different, and much more clever. This is the kind of song you would want to dedicate to your fucking school principal; the song is a major diss to schools everywhere. At least to my school, considering how the lyrics describe people. They talk about the denial of being surrounded by freak people at schools:

When I went to school, in Olympia, and everyone's the same
Well, what do you do, with a revolution? Just forget your name!
Well I went to school in a facist state
And everyone's the same
They call it punk rock, and we got it great, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Slit your race, make me real, fuck you, make me sick, fuck you, make me punk, fuck you
When I went to school, in Olympia, yeah, and everyone's the same
From parasites to psychopaths! Oh god, just please forget my name!
Well I went to school, in a facist state (in Olympia) yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
And everyone's the same. We got a little revolution!
And everyone forgets our names! Fuck you
Make me real fuck you, make me sick, fuck you, make me suck, fuck you
Do it for the kids, do it do it do it do it do it for the kids, do it do it do it do it, do it for the kids
(Music stops, Courtney starts clapping) My mother made me take off my dress, take off my shoes, take off my dress
When I went to school, in Olympia
Facists, sexists just make haste waste. Bye bye, good-night. Good bye!

Do It Clean (live)- Another one of my favorite Hole covers. This is only the second version I've heard live by Hole, but it's my favorite version. Kristen Pfaff kicked so much ass, the song starts out with her fast paced bassline. This version of the live song is faster than the other version I've heard, only 1 minute and 25 seconds. As with most of their cover songs, the band doesn't finish the entire tune. Courtney tells the crowd, "You guys don't admit it, but you all had Echo & the Bunnymen records." The song was recorded live on July 15, 1993, on Hole's summer Europe tour. These last 2 tracks are also on the now-deleted "Doll Parts" EP, where ever the hell you can find that one. Good luck.
