We have a new wider driveway!! and a new roof!!! See Pictures Here REV. ROB MOORE'S VISIT Rev. Rob Moore, Asistant to the Bishop Came to visit! On Tuesday, March 4th, 2003, Rev. Rob Moore, Assistant to the Bishop came to the Light of Christ Lutheran Church, to interview the transformational ministry of our congregation. Rev. Moore is writing an article to go out through the Lutheran networks nationwide. Light of Christ will be his first. We, at Light of Christ, are very excited about sharing the new outreach ministries that are being developed. A very special "thank-you!" to the Tomball Church for their donations to the church. A very special "thank-you!" to all members and visitors who have donated and volunteered their time to our church. OUR 40th ANNIVERSARY! We celebrated the church's 40th anniversary on November 17, 2002. NEW BUILDING FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN New Facility!! Our Building is under going Expansion Come Grow and Worship Him With Us!! DAWNING LIGHT 24 HOUR CHILD CARE CENTER We are very proud of our Child Care Center facility. As of 2005, we have added additional interior space and staff. We assure you, we have a safe, child care, learning facility, that is an asset to the La Porte community. Our facility is open to the public, regardless of race, color or religion. Please support us by enrolling your child. We accept many age groups. Drop-Ins Welcomed!! Complete Day and Night Shift services are available. We have many rates to suit the hours you desire. It is located to the west of Krogers, on Fairmont street at Hwy 146. Our facility and staff are licensed, and meet all of the state child care requirements. Hours of Operation: Noon to 3:00pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday The Food Pantry has moved into the small building North of the Recreation Hall. Thanks to a great staff and surely blessed super volunteers, we are now serving one to two meals a month to 40 or 50 families a month! Special Thanks to Al Fortune and all the volunteers for their hard work and committment to the Food Pantry and church fellowship. We will consider one that needs repair. COMPUTER SUPPLIES NEEDED Have an old computer? We could stand another computer system. It can be broken. Our webmaster is an experienced computer technician. He will gladly try to repair any computer system contribution. If you call the church 281-471-1195 we will even pick your contribution up. These are tax deductible donations. Thank You! KROGER CARDS Light of Christ Lutheran Church has Kroger Scanning Cards. Kroger has agreed to donate to the church .01 cent for every dollar you spend on groceries. This is at no cost to you and would benefit our church greatly. Cards are available on the hospitality counter by the back door. Please help yourself to a card and help us by having this card scanned along with your Kroger card, each time you shop. Thurday nights 6:30pm to 8:30pm BAY AREA ACADEMY   The Bay Area Academy started school classes on grounds, August 19th, 2002. The addition of this school means changes for all of us, ..so please be sensitive to it's creation and the need of quite, during the school day. OUTSIDE DECK Our Outside Deck is completed!!~ Some of our fellowship made use of God's beautiful sunshine and had our Thanksgiving Lunch outside on our new deck. We feel this addition to the building will be an excellent place to gather and enjoy great friendly Christian fellowship. French doors are already installed from the recreation hall to the deck for easy access. Drop on by! Have a cup of coffee on our deck! All Christian faiths are welcomed. GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP  If you are suffering with grief related issues you are invited to attend meetings every Monday from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Saint John Hospital on Nasa Road One.
