Reviews: Carcass
Melodic death metal, grindcore, death metal
Heartwork - 1994
This album is considered by many a death metal fan to be one of the most important contrabutions to 90's death metal. Coming from a grindcore/brutal death metal background, Carcass wove strong melodies into the heavy harsh sound of death metal, spawning many followers. The guitars on this album are excellent, showing that just because you tune down to B doesn't mean you have to play crappy-pop-metal-noise-korn-garbage. Great solos, good strong drumming and catchy melodic hooks makes this a great cd for any fan of melodic death metal. If you are into Arch Enemy, In Flames, Soilwork, etc. check this cd out. This cd may even be a good listen for those into more brutal forms of death metal. Some songs I thoroughly enjoy include: "Carnal Forge," "Heartwork," "Death Certificate," and the bonus track "This is your life."
