The Jersey Wooly Rabbit is one of the newest recognized breeds of the American Rabbit Breeder Association. It is a small rabbit of about 3 pounds with a bold head and wooled body. It comes in a variety of colors and make an excellent pet.
The Jersey Wooly was produced by crossing Netherland Dwarfs with French Angoras. It was first introduced at the 1984 ARBA Convention in Orlando, Florida by Bonnie Seemly of Highbridge, NJ. In 1988 at the ARBA Convention, in Madison Wisconsin, it became a recognized breed. Bonnie originally developed the breed in order to produce a small pet rabbit with wool that was easy to care for. Today, the Jersey Wooly is that , and much more, as one of the most popular breeds of rabbits exhibited around the country with a club membership over 700.
