As the Director of Transportation, John Douglas brings 24 years of GISD experience to the table. He has served over 13 years in his current position, 11 years as textbook coordinator for GISD and 3 years as a classroom teacher. John is involved in many organizations that support the Transportation effort...most notably the TAPT (State) and NTAPT (Regional). John was the president of the NTAPT from 1993-94 and treasurer of TAPT from 1995-96. He teaches the Transportation/Certification Course for TAPT. Areas of instruction include Personnel Management, Purchasing, and Introduction to Transportation. John is also involved at a high level in coordination for the annual "Bus Road-eo" for drivers and transportation personnel.
As the Assistant Director of Transportatioin, Brian Abbett brings 13 years of GISD operations experience to his assignment.
As the Operations Administrator, Sue Welch brings 21 years of GISD operations experience to her position. Sue drove a regular route for 6 years, was Lead Driver 3 years, Transportation Supervisor of Regular Education 7 years, and Transportion Supervisor for 3 years. She is active in professional groups being a member of the NTAPT & TAPT organizations and assisted in the judging and score keeping areas for the Region 10/11 Bus Road-eo. Sue enjoys camping and taking care of her grandchildren. Her three children all graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School.
