The American Legion For God & Country Tower Rats Military Police Site (For The Other MP's African American Civil Rights and Germany I was recently contacted by Dr. Claudia Gross of AACVR an organization based in Ramstein, Germany. She has asked me to assist her with information on North Point and its history. I was very surprised when I visited the site and learned of its subject. The site is awesome and you owe it to yourselves to check it out. There is a ton of very interesting information there on a subject I never gave a lot of thought about. I must say I think about it a lot since visiting the site. Take a look, it's pretty cool. The paragraph below is from the site and gives you an idea of the site content. Click the link above. Between 1945 and the end of the Cold War, some 15-20 million American soldiers, families and civilian employees lived in Germany. Between 2-3 million of those Americans were African American. By giving voice to their experience and to that of the people who interacted with them, we will expand the story of the African-American civil rights movement beyond the boundaries of the U.S. |
